Collision blocks GO bus access to Union terminal
and delaying TTC buses

Due to a major vehicle collision at Bay Street and Lake Shore Boulevard West, GO Transit buses can’t reach Union Station GO Bus Terminal. GO has canceled all services to and from the terminal until Toronto Police Services officers clear the intersection.

Buses operating to and from the terminal along the Barrie and Stouffville corridors are serving passengers at York Mills GO Bus Terminal, instead of Union. Passengers may use GO tickets to board TTC’s 1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway at Union, Finch, Yorkdale or York Mills Stations.

Buses serving the Hamilton, Milton and Georgetown corridors start and end their trips at Port Credit GO Station. Trains operating along the 01 Lakeshore West will carry passengers between Union and Port Credit.

Check out GO’s website for up-to-date information, here.

Some Transit Toronto readers advise that the collision is also affecting ramps onto and off the Gardiner Expressway, backing up traffic along that major artery.

Also, the traffic backlog is delaying TTC buses serving the 6 Bay and 509 Harbourfront routes. Buses operating along the 6 Bay route detour along King Street West and Yonge Street and do not operate along Bay Street south of King West. Buses operating along the 509 Harbourfront route are detouring around a wide loop through downtown from Lake Shore Boulevard along York Street, Adelaide Street West and Yonge Street and avoid Bay Street.
