New Bayview vivastation opens, September 1

Metrolinx and York Region Transit is opening the new Bayview vivastation at Highway 7 and Bayview Avenue , Sunday, September 1, the last of the stations on the first phase of the Highway 7 rapidway — bus-only lanes in the centre of the roadway.

Passengers and pedestrians can access the vivastation by using the new walkway and stairs at Bayview towers.

The towers include a heated pedestrian walkway, elevator and an enclosed staircase, to let passengers connect with Viva bus rapid transit service at one of the busiest vivastations. Pedestrians can also use the Bayview towers structure to walk between Bayview Avenue and HIghway 7, since Bayview crosses the highway on an overpass.
