Fire at Chester station

Update — 8:41 p.m.: Regular service has resumed.

Greetings! Be advised that there is currently a 2 alarm fire at Chester Station. As a result, all trains are bypassing Chester and the station is currently closed. No word from the TTC on when service will resume or when the station will be reopening but we will keep you posted for your morning commute.

Also be advised that as trains are bypassing the station is is safe to assume that this is what is known as a Plan C or a fire in the station not at track level or onboard a train. 2 alarm fires are capable of causing damage and are rare on the TTC system. The last notable 2 alarm fire was a few years ago at St. George station which resulted in no service through the station for a number of hours into the following day.
