TTC's new articulated -- "bendy" bus
goes into service, December 20

The TTC’s new accessible articulated bus will go into service for the first time tomorrow morning, Friday, December 20 at Bathurst Station.

The bus will operate along the 7 Bathurst route.

The TTC has ordered 153 of new vehicles, which will operate along the TTC’s busiest routes by the end of 2014.

The new buses will soon be dropping off and picking up passengers along these routes:

  • 7 Bathurst: first bus tomorrow, Friday, December 20;
  • 29 Dufferin: first bus January 2014;
  • 36 Finch West: first bus in spring 2014;
  • 63 Ossington: first bus in summer 2014;
  • 6 Bay: first bus in summer 2014;
  • 85 Sheppard East: first bus in fall 2014;
  • 53 Steeles East express: first bus in fall 2014.

The new buses will operate out of the TTC’s Wilson, Mount Dennis and Malvern garages.

The TTC previously operated articulated buses in its fleet between 1987 and 2003.
