Watermain break at Bloor and Yonge
affects two subway lines

A watermain has broken near the intersection of Yonge and Bloor Streets, flooding parts of the subway station below.

TTC subway trains on both the 1 Yonge - University - Spadina and 2 Bloor - Danforth lines are skipping Bloor - Yonge Station. The trains pass through the station but do not stop to drop off or pick up passengers.

Frequent shuttle buses are operating north and south along Yonge Street between Rosedale and Wellesley Stations. Buses are also operating east and west along Bloor Street between St. George and Castle Frank Stations. The TTC says it’s operating 26 shuttle buses along Yonge Street and 31 along Bloor.

Headed downtown? Transfer to the University branch of the 1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway at St. George Station.

Other travel options:

If traveling from the east, exit the subway at Broadview Station to board streetcars operating along the 504 King or 505 Dundas routes, or at Main Street Station to board a 506 Carlton car. (Or exit at Pape, Greenwood or Coxwell Stations to board southbound buses and then transfer to streetcars further south.)

West-enders could also board 504 King or 505 Dundas cars at Dundas West Station. (Or exit at Lansdowne, Dufferin, Ossington, Bathurst or Spadina Stations to board southbound buses or streetcars and then transfer to east-west cars further south. Remember to plan ahead. If you pay your fare by cash and you intend to board buses at Lansdowne or Dufferin Stations, pick up a transfer ticket when you pay your fare.)

Passengers traveling from the north should think about avoiding the Yonge branch of the line and head to the Spadina branch. Or, exit the Yonge line at Sheppard - Yonge, York Mills, Lawrence, Eglinton or St. Clair Stations, board streetcars or buses to take you to Downsview, Wilson, Lawrence West, Eglinton West or St. Clair West Stations.
