Yorkville construction:
TTC detours starting April 21

The City of Toronto is closing

  • Yorkville Avenue between Bay and Yonge Streets

in the final stage of a project that started last year. Last year during the project, City contractors:

  • rebuilt Bay Street between Davenport Road and Bloor Street West and
  • rebuilt Davenport Road between McAlpine and McMurrich Streets.

This year, the project includes replacing the watermains on Yorkville, rebuilding the roadway and improving the streetscape throughout the area with new trees, landscaping and lighting.

Starting Monday, April 21, the TTC is again detouring buses operating along the 6A Bay route to accommodate the work.

During Yorkville construction, it will temporarily cancel service along the 6A branch of the route so that all buses operating to Davenport Road and Dupont Street Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

Construction and the detour continue until 5 a.m. May 8.
