Metrolinx and York Region contractors continue to work on the project to build a rapidway — bus-only lanes in the centre of the roadway.

Here’s what’s going on this week:

  • Cedarland Drive — Contractors are closing the street to traffic until the end of August.
  • intersection of South Town Centre Boulevard with Clegg Road — from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day: Contractors have reduced South Town Centre to just one lane in each direction. They’ve also close east- and westbound curb lanes on Clegg for intersection work. These are long term closures.
  • between Warden Avenue and Highway 404 — from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. each day: Contractors are closing multiple lanes. Expect heavy traffic. Work continues until June 6.
  • between Town Centre Boulevard / South Town Centre Boulevard and East Beaver Creek Road / Commerce Valley Drive East — from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. each day: Contractors are closing east- and westbound lanes. Expect heavy traffic. Work continues until June 27.
  • between Town Centre Boulevard / South Town Centre Boulevard and Rodick Road — from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. each day: Contractors are closing the sidewalks on north and south side of Highway 7. Work continues until June 6.

Pedestrians must use the sidewalk on the south side of Highway 7 and cross on the west side of Lunar Crescent to access the Blinds to Go Plaza. Work continues until May 30.
  • between Montgomery Court and Woodbine Avenue — Contractors are restricting westbound traffic to just one lane. Expect very serious delays. Work continues until May 30.
  • Lunar Crescent — Contractors are closing alternating north- or southbound curb lanes north of Highway 7. Work continues until May 30.

  • at Woodbine Avenue — Friday, June 6, from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.: Contractors are closing the northbound curb lane on Woodbine and the eastbound curb lane of Highway 7 to install “bike boxes” — safety zones for cyclists.
