Update — Wednesday, January 14, 11:15 a.m.: The City resumed construction and Burlington Transit resumed detouring buses, starting Monday, January 12. Work continues in two phases until July.
Update — Wednesday, October 1, 8:08 p.m.: Contractors are finishing this year’s portion of the project earlier than planned. Construction ends — for this year — Saturday, October 11 and buses resume regular service.
Update — Wednesday, June 25, 12:51 p.m.: The City proceeds with the second phase of the project, closing Pinedale to all traffic, starting Monday, June 30. Burlington Transit is further detouring its buses.
Update — Tuesday, June 3, 5:29 p.m.: Burlington Transit has more clearly defined the construction period as taking place from Wednesday, June 4 until Thursday, June 12, instead of “for three days (depending on the weather) from Thursday, May 29 until Friday, June 6,” as it previously announced.
Starting Wednesday, June 4, the City of Burlington is closing:
- Pinedale Avenue north of New Street
during the second phase of a project to:
- replace the asphalt;
- repair sidewalks and curbs; and
- replace water services.
Burlington Transit is detouring buses operating along the 4 Central, 40A Hampton Heath - Pinedale and 40B Pinedale - Hampton Heath routes, while the street is closed.
Construction continues until June 12.
4 Central
From Wednesday, June 4 until Thursday, June 12, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Pinedale Avenue and Wedgewood Drive, then detour:
southward along Wedgewood to New Street,
resuming their regular route westward along New.Eastbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Pinedale Avenue east of Wedgewood Drive, across from Riverside Drive and at Forestwood Drive and New Street and
- on New Street at Wedgewood Drive.
40A Hampton Heath - Pinedale
From Wednesday, June 4 until Thursday, June 12, buses operate along their regular route to New Street and Pinedale Avenue, then detour:
westward along New; and then
northward along Wedgewood Drive to Pinedale,
resuming their regular route westward along Pinedale.Buses skip their regular stops
- on Pinedale Avenue at Salem Road, west of Riverside Drive and at Mullen Way.
Instead, buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop
- on New Street at Wedgewood Drive.
40B Pinedale - Hampton Heath
From Wednesday, June 4 until Thursday, June 12, buses operate along their regular route to Pinedale Avenue and Wedgewood Drive, then detour:
southward along Wedgewood; and then
eastward along New Street to Pinedale,
resuming their regular route eastward along New.Buses skip their regular stops
- on Pinedale Avenue east of Wedgewood Drive, across from Riverside Drive and at Forestwood Drive.
Instead, buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on New Street at Meadowhill Road and east of Bower Court.
