YRT revises routes and services, July 14

York Region Transit made two changes to its routes and services, starting today, Monday, July 14.

The changes affect these routes: 77 / 77A Highway 7, 760 Vaughan Mills / Wonderland

Specifically, YRT is: introducing a new branch of a route; increasing service along routes; and making another change to service along a route.

Introducing a new branch of a route

77A Highway 7

YRT is operating buses on a new local / express branch of the route to maintain the reliability of service. Two major transit construction projects — the project to extend the TTC’s 1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway to Vaughan and the project to build a rapidway (bus-only lanes in the centre of the roadway) from west of Jane Street to east of Keele Street — are delaying transit services along Highway 7 West.

Starting today, Monday, July 14, is operating more buses along the route, serving local stops between Highway 50 and Interchange Way and then operating express — without stopping — along Highway 407 to Yonge Street. The buses again serve local stops on Yonge Street south of Centre.

Eastbound buses start their trips at Highways 7 and 50, then proceed:

northward along Highway 50;
eastward along Frogal Road and Zenway Boulevard;
southward along Vaughan Valley Boulevard;
eastward along Highway 7;
south- and eastward along Interchange Way;
southward along Jane Street;
eastward along Highway 407;
southward along Yonge Street; and then
eastward into Finch GO Bus Terminal,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses start their trips in Finch GO Bus Terminal, then proceed:

northward along Yonge Street;
westward along Highway 407;
northward along Jane Street;
west- and northward along Interchange Way; and then
westward along Highway 7 to Highway 50,
ending their trips.

Buses operate every 30 minutes Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

Increasing service along routes

77 / 77A Highway 7

Starting Monday, July 14, YRT introduces the new 77A branch of the route to improve the reliability of service along the route during major construction projects on Highway 7 from west of Jane Street to east of Keele Street.

Service along the new branch results in more service Mondays to Fridays during rush hours for passengers traveling to and from stops on Highway 7 west of Interchange Way and on Yonge Street south of Centre Street.

760 Vaughan Mills / Wonderland

Southbound buses leave Wonderland Terminal daily at 10 a.m. and every hour until 10 p.m. Northbound buses leave Finch GO Bus Terminal daily at 9 a.m. and every hour until 9 p.m.

YRT is also making another change to service along the route.
