Finch Avenue Pickering construction:
DRT detours, November 21



The City of Pickering and the Region of Durham are closing

  • Finch Avenue [Regional Road 37], eastbound lanes, west of Valley Farm Road

this morning, Friday, November 21, as part of ongoing construction of the Region’s Southeast Collector Trunk Sewer Project.

(Work on the project has blocked westbound lanes of Finch between Valley Farm and Brock Roads to all traffic since October 1, 2013. Crews are building a connection chamber on the northeast corner of the intersection of Finch Avenue with Valley Farm Road.)

Durham Region Transit is detouring buses operating along the 110A Central Pickering and 193B Pickering community bus routes, while the street is closed.


110A Central Pickering

From 9:30 a.m. until noon, Friday, November 21, buses operate along their regular route to Finch Avenue and Rosefield Road, then detour:

southward along Rosefield;
eastward along Fieldlight Drive; and then
northward along Valley Farm Road to Finch Avenue,
resuming their regular route eastward along Finch.

193B Pickering community bus

From 9:30 a.m. until noon, Friday, November 21, buses operate along their regular route to Valley Farm Road and Fieldlight Drive, then detour:

westward along Fieldlight to Rosefield Road,
resuming their regular route westward along Fieldlight.
