The City of Toronto is closing:
- Lansdowne Avenue just between Shirley Street and Rideau Avenue (just south of Dundas Street West)
this weekend, as Metrolinx crews continue rehabilitating the overpass carrying GO Transit trains across the roadway. The work is part of major projects to upgrade the Georgetown South Rail Corridor and to build the Union Pearson Express line.
From 5 a.m. Saturday, January 24 until 5 a.m. Monday, January 26, crews are delivering equipment and installing two new girders on the bridge. The TTC is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:
- 47 Lansdowne.

From 5 a.m. Saturday, January 24 until 5 a.m. Monday, January 26, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Lansdowne Avenue and Dundas Street West, then detour:
eastward along Dundas West;
southward along Dufferin Street; and then
westward along Queen Street West to Lansdowne Avenue,
ending their trips.Southbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Lansdowne Avenue south of Rideau Avenue, beside #106 Lansdowne, at Seaforth Avenue and Queen Street West.
Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Dundas Street West at St. Clarens Avenue (Sunday only), Brock and Sheridan Avenues and Dufferin Street,
- on Dufferin Street at Gordon Street and across from Alma Avenue,
- on Queen Street West at Brock, O’Hara and Lansdowne Avenues.
Northbound buses operate along their regular route to Seaforth Street and Lansdowne Avenue, then detour:
southward along Lansdowne Avenue;
eastward along Queen Street West;
northward along Dufferin Street; and then
westward along Dundas Street West to Lansdowne Avenue,
resuming their regular route northward along Lansdowne.Northbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Lansdowne Avenue north of Seaforth Avenue, across from #104 Lansdowne and Rideau Avenue and at Dundas Street West.
Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Lansdowne Avenue at Queen Street West,
- on Queen Street West at Dunn Avenue, Cowan Avenue (Sunday only) and across from Brock Avenue,
- on Dufferin Street at Alma Avenue and across from Gordon Street and
- on Dundas Street West at Sheridan and Brock Avenues, St. Clarens Avenue (Sunday only) and Lansdowne Avenue.
