Special events in Guelph, Peterborough, Richmond Hill and Tornoto affect transit services this weekend.

The Friday, February 6 events affecting transit services are: an Ontario Hockey League game; the Richmond Hill Winter Carnival; and the Under the Lock Hockey Tournament.

The Saturday, February 7 and Sunday, February 8 events affecting transit services are: the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show; and the Under the Lock Hockey Tournament.

You can ride any Guelph Transit bus for free Friday, February 6 to the Guelph Storm game against the Sudbury Wolves at 7:30 p.m. — if you have a valid ticket to the game. You can ride free of fare to and from the Sleeman Centre Friday evening after 5 p.m. by simply showing the Guelph Transit driver your game ticket.

Peterborough


Under the Lock Hockey Tournament

The City of Peterborough is closing

  • Ashburnham Drive between Hunter Street East and Maniece Avenue

from 6 a.m. Friday, February 6 until 11 p.m. Sunday, February 8 to accommodate the event.

Peterborough Transit is detouring buses, while the street is closed.

11 Ashburnham

All day Friday, February 6, Saturday, February 7 and Sunday, February 8, inbound buses operate along their regular route to Maria Street and Ashburnham Drive, then detour:

westward along Maria; and then
northward along Armour Road to Hunter Street East,
resuming their regular route westward along Hunter East.

Inbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Ashburnham Drive at Maniece Avenue and north of Maniece Avenue and
  • on Hunter Street East west of Ashburnham and Museum Drives.

Outbound buses reverse the inbound detour routing.

Outbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Hunter Street East east of Armour Road and west of Ashburnham Drive and
  • on Ashburnham Drive south of Hunter Street East and across from Maniece Avenue.

Richmond Hill


Richmond Hill Winter Carnival

The Town of Richmond Hill is closing

  • Mill Street near Mill Pond Park

from noon Friday, February 6 until 5 p.m. Sunday, February 8 to accommodate the annual carnival.

York Region Transit is detouring buses, while the street is closed. Although the event continues through the weekend, it only affects transit services Friday because YRT buses do not operate along Mill Street Saturdays and Sundays.

240 Mill Pond GO shuttle

After noon Friday, February 6, buses operate along their regular route to Mill and Bridgeport Streets, then detour:

southward along
westward along Richmond Street;
south- and westward along Kerrybrook Drive; and then
northward along Neighbourly Lane to Mill,
resuming their regular route northward along Ellery Drive.

Buses skip their regular stops

  • on Mill Street at Wood Lane, Sugar Maple Lane [east] and Ellery Drive.
83 Trench

After noon Friday, February 6, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Mill Street and Ellery Drive / Neighbourly Lane, then detour:

southward along Neighbourly;
east- and northward along Kerrybrook Drive; and then
eastward along Richmond Street to Trench Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Trench.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Mill Street west of Neighbourly Lane, across from Sugar Maple Lane [west] and at Leisure Lane and Trench Street and
  • on Trench Street at Richmond Street.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour routing.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Trench Street at Mill Street and
  • on Mill Street at Sugar Maple Lane [east] and Ellery Drive.
83A Trench

After noon Friday, February 6, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Mill and Bridgeport Streets, then detour:

southward along Bridgeport; and then
westward along Richmond Street to Trench Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Trench.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Mill Street at Wood Lane and
  • on Trench Street at Richmond Street.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour routing.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Trench Street at Mill Street and
  • on Mill Street at Bridgeport Street.

Toronto Sportsmen’s Show

Exhibition Place is closing various streets within its grounds Saturday and Sunday to accommodate the annual event.

The TTC is detouring buses, while the streets are closed.

29C Dufferin (Princes’ Gate)

Southbound buses operate along their regular route.

From 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, February 7 and from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, February 8, northbound buses operate along their regular route to Princes’ Boulevard and Nunavut Road, then detour:

westward along Princes’;
northward along Ontario Drive; and then
westward along Saskatchewan Road to Manitoba Drive,
resuming their regular route westward along Saskatchewan.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Nunavut Road north of Princes’ Boulevard and
  • on Manitoba Drive across from Nova Scotia Avenue and at Saskatchewan Road.
