Commerce Boulevard construction :
MiWay, TTC detours start April 27



Update — Monday, October 24, 2015, 9:33 a.m.: Construction on the Transitway has progressed so that the City can re-open Commerce Boulevard, but also close Explorer Drive. MiWay and the TTC are revising detour routings, starting Wednesday, October 26.


The City of Mississauga is closing

  • Commerce Boulevard between Skymark Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East

starting Monday, April 27 for ongoing construction of phase 2 of the Mississauga Transitway and related Metrolinx construction of Renforth Gateway Station.

Construction likely blocks Commerce Boulevard until October 10.

MiWay is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 7 Airport.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along these routes, while the street is closed:

  • 32A Eglinton West; and
  • 112C West Mall.

While the street is closed, contractors will build an underpass to carry Commerce Boulevard over the Transitway. They’ll mostly work Mondays to Fridays from about 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., but they may also work overnight as the project progresses. Expect dust and noise from heavy machinery.

From Monday, April 27 until Saturday, October 10, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Renforth Drive and Matheson Boulevard East, then proceed:

eastward along Matheson East; and then
southward along Commerce Boulevard to Skymark Avenue,
resuming their regular route westward along Skymark.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Eglinton Avenue East east of Renforth Drive and at Commerce Boulevard.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Matheson Boulevard East west of Renforth Drive and
  • on Commerce Boulevard south of Matheson Boulevard East and at Skymark Avenue.

Northbound buses continue along their regular route.

From Monday, April 27 until Saturday, October 10, eastbound buses start their trips in Skymark Hub, as usual, then proceed:

eastward along Skymark Avenue;
northward along Commerce Boulevard;
westward along Matheson Boulevard East;
southward along Explorer Drive; and then
eastward along Eglinton Avenue to Commerce Boulevard,
resuming their regular route eastward along Eglinton.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Commerce Boulevard south of Skymark Avenue.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route.

112B West Mall

From Monday, April 27 until Saturday, October 10, southbound buses start their trips in Skymark Hub, as usual, then proceed:

eastward along Skymark Avenue;
northward along Commerce Boulevard;
westward along Matheson Boulevard East;
southward along Explorer Drive; and then
eastward along Eglinton Avenue to Commerce Boulevard,
resuming their regular route eastward along Eglinton.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Commerce Boulevard south of Skymark Avenue.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route.
