5year-MiWay_Header_MiWayWebHeader-orange-date_780x116.pngThis week, MiWay is hosting a series of public information centres to showcase, “MiWay5”, its five-year service plan. Since April 2014, MiWay staff have been consulting with passengers through surveys, focus groups and by reaching out to various stakeholder groups to develop the plan.

Now it’s hosting this series of events to present you with its final plan to provide you with another opportunity to review the proposals and provide your feedback and comments.

MiWay says “MiWay Five is its plan for evolving public transit in Mississauga over the five years from 2016 to 2020.” It comprehensively is reviewing where transit operates, when it operates, and how frequently. Eventually, the plan will define MiWay’s service standards for the next five years and set the stage for expanding transit in the future.


Monday, May 25

Malton Community Centre
Hall A

Getting there by public transit:

  • Westwood Mall terminal is two blocks west of the community centre on Morning Star Drive.
  • Brampton Transit buses operating along these routes start and end their trips at the terminal: 5 Bovaird, 14 Torbram, 30 Airport Road.
  • MiWay buses operating along these routes start and end their trips at the terminal: 7 Airport, 11 / 11A / 11B Westwood, 12 Rexdale, 15 Drew, 16 / 16A Malton, 22 Finch, 24 Northwest, 42 Derry, 107 Malton express.
  • southbound MiWay buses operating along the 11 Westwood route to Morning Star Drive at Darcel Avenue, beside the community centre.
  • northbound buses operating along the 11 Westwood route to Morning Star Drive at Darcel Avenue. Cross both streets to the southwest corner.
  • buses operating along the 16 Malton route to Darcel Avenue at Morning Star. Cross Darcel to the southwest corner.
  • buses operating along the 16A Malton route to Darcel Avenue south of Morning Star beside the community centre.
  • eastbound buses operating along the 22 Finch route to Morning Star west of Darcel. Walk east to the community centre.
  • westbound buses operating along the 22 Finch route to Darcel north of Morning Star. Cross both streets to the southwest corner.

Tuesday, May 26

Getting there by public transit:

  • Erin Mills Town Centre terminal is three blocks east of the school.
  • MiWay buses operating along these routes start and end their trips in the terminal: 13 Glen Erin, 29 Park Royal, 34 Credit Valley, 41 Thomas, 46 Tenth Line - Lisgar GO, 48 Erin Mills, 49 McDowell.
  • southbound buses operating along the 13 Glen Erin route to Glen Erin Drive south of Erin Centre Boulevard.
  • northbound buses operating along the 13 Glen Erin route to Glen Erin and Erin Centre. Cross Glen Erin at the signal to the southwest corner.
  • eastbound buses operating along the 34 Credit Valley route to Erin Centre and Glen Erin. Cross to the southwest corner.
  • westbound buses operating along the 34 Credit Valley route to Erin Centre and Glen Erin.
  • eastbound buses operating along the 41 Thomas route to Glen Erin north of Erin Centre. Walk south, then cross to the southwest corner.
  • southbound buses operating along the 46 Tenth Line - Lisgar GO route to Erin Centre and Glen Erin.
  • northbound buses operating along the 46 Tenth Line - Lisgar GO route to Erin Centre and Glen Erin. Cross to the southwest corner.

Wednesday, May 27

Getting there by public transit:

  • Port Credit GO Station is two blocks northeast of the arena.
  • GO Transit trains operating along the 01 Lakeshore West line drop off or pick up passengers at the station.
  • MiWay buses operating along the 8 Cawthra, 14 Lorne Park, 19 Hurontario, 23 Lakeshore and 103 Hurontario express routes also drop off or pick up passengers at the station terminal.
  • northbound buses operating along the 8 Cawthra route, westbound buses operating along the 14 Lorne Park route, northbound buses operating along the 19 Hurontario route and east- and westbound buses operating along the 23 Lakeshore route stop on Elizabeth Street at Park Street East. Walk west along Park East to the northwest corner of Park and Stavebank.

Thursday, May 28

Mississauga Civic Centre

Getting there by public transit:

  • MiWay’s City Centre Terminal and GO Transit’s Square One Terminal are four blocks northeast of the civic centre. Multiple Brampton Transit, GO and MiWay routes drop off or pick up passengers at the terminal.
  • Eastbound GO buses operating along the 19 Oakville / North York, 21 Milton / Toronto and 29 Guelph / Mississauga routes to Duke of York Boulevard at Princess Royal Drive. Walk south along Duke of York to the civic centre.
  • Westbound GO buses operating along the 19 Oakville / North York, 21 Milton / Toronto and 29 Guelph / Mississauga routes to City Centre Drive east of Duke of York Boulevard. Walk west along City Centre, then cross Duke of York at the signal to the northwest corner.
  • southbound MiWay buses operating along the 6 Credit Woodlands route to Living Arts Drive at Princess Royal Drive. Cross to the east side of Living Art, walk south one block and then east along City Centre.
  • northbound buses operating along the 6 Credit Woodlands route to Living Arts Drive at City Centre Drive. Walk east along City Centre.
  • southbound buses operating along the 8 Cawthra route to Duke of York Boulevard at Princess Royal Drive. Walk south along Duke of York to the civic centre.
  • northbound buses operating along the 8 Cawthra route to City Centre Drive at Duke of York Boulevard. Cross Duke of York to the northwest corner.
  • eastbound buses operating along the 26 Burnhamthorpe route to Duke of York at City Centre. Cross to the northwest corner.
  • westbound buses operating along the 26 Burnhamthorpe route to Duke of York and City Centre beside the civic centre.
  • southbound buses operating along the 26 Hillcrest - Cooksville GO route to Duke of York and City Centre beside the civic centre.
  • northbound buses operating along the 91 Hillcrest - Cooksville GO route to Duke of York at City Centre. Cross to the northwest corner.
