Keele Street / Trethewey Drive / Yore Road construction: TTC detour, starting June 3



Starting Wednesday, June 3, the City of Toronto is closing:

  • Keele Street between between Lester Avenue and Yore Road and between Eglinton Avenue West and Cameron Avenue,
  • Lonborough Avenue east of Keele Street,
  • Trethewey Drive between York Road and Eglinton Avenue West and
  • Yore Road between Keele and Glenhaven streets.

to accommodate a project to eliminate basement flooding in the area.

Crews are:

  • excavating the road and digging a trench to access and install the new sewers;
  • replacing City-owned water service pipes that do not meet City standards from the sewer and water mains to private-property lines; and
  • restoring all work areas with asphalt, concrete or grass when they’ve finished working underground.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along this route, while the streets are closed:

  • 41 Keele.

Construction on Keele, Lonborough, Trethewey and Yore and the resulting TTC detour continue until June 17.


41 Keele

Southbound buses operate along their regular route.

From 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 3 until Wednesday, June 17, northbound buses operate along their regular route to Keele Street and Eglinton Avenue West, then detour:

eastward along Eglinton West;
northward along Richardson Avenue; and then
westward along Beechborough Avenue to Keele,
resuming their regular path northward along Keele.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Keele Street beyond Yore Road and at Beechborough Avenue.
