The Hamilton Street Railway is offering Canadian Football League fans free rides to and from Hamilton Tiger-Cats games at Tim Hortons Field again this year.
The 2015 Ticket to Ride program allows you to ride any HSR bus from three hours before the start of any home game until the end of service on game day, if you hold a valid ticket for the game.
You can also take advantage of Tiger-Cats Express shuttles. Park your car at or near one of four terminals across the City and the HSR will whisk you directly to the stadium on an express bus — and then take you back to one of the four terminals after the game. (You can also take another HSR bus to one of the four terminals — just show your game ticket to the bus operating and that’s your ticket to ride.)
Tiger-Cats Express
Express shuttle buses operate from:
- University Plaza, stopping only on Main Street West at Emerson Avenue (across from McMaster University) and on Main Street East at John Street South, near the Hamilton GO Centre. Buses start about two hours before the games and operate every 30 minutes until game time.
- Lime Ridge Mall park ‘n’ ride, stopping only at Lime Ridge Terminal. Buses start about two hours before the games and operate every 30 minutes until game time.
- Eastgate Square Terminal stopping only at the park ‘n’ ride lot at Queenston Road and Kenora Avenue. Buses start about two hours before the games and operate every 30 minutes until game time.
- King Street East and Hughson Street in downtown Hamilton. Buses start about two hours before the games and operate every 20 minutes until game time.
You can find free parking in lots with the Tiger-Cats banner near the terminals at Eastgate Square, Lime Ridge Mall and the University Plaza.
Buses operating along the Eastgate shuttle route drop off and pick up passengers on the south side of Cannon Street East, just west of Balsam Avenue North. Buses operating along the other three shuttle routes drop off and pick up passengers on the north side of King Street East just east of Melrose Avenue North.
Passengers who use D.A.R.T.S (Disabled and Aged Regional Transit System) can also ride to the game for free, if they hold a valid ticket for the game. (.pdf) Book your ride by calling 905-529-1212.
