Denison Street construction:
TTC, YRT detours, June 19, 20, 21, 22



The City of Markham is closing:

  • Denison Street between Warden Avenue and Esna Park Drive

from 7 p.m. Friday June 19 until 7 a.m. Monday, June 22 to accommodate a construction project.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 224C Victoria Park North.

York Region Transit is detouring buses operating along these routes, while the street is closed:

After 7 a.m. Friday, June 19 and before 7 a.m. Monday, June 22, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Hood Road and Bentley Street, then detour:

west- and northward along Bentley;
westward along Alden Road; and then
southward along Esna Park Drive to Denison Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Esna Park.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Hood Road at Amber and Denison Streets and
  • on Denison Street at #s 920 and 840 Dension and at Esna Park Drive.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Esna Park Drive across from Alden Road.

From 7 a.m. Friday, June 19 until 7 a.m. Monday, June 22, westbound buses operate along their regular route to Denison Street and Warden Avenue, then detour:

southward along Warden;
westward along Steeles Avenue East; and then
northward along Esna Park Drive to Denison,
resuming their regular route northward along Esna Park.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Denison Street at Hood Road, west of Hood Road and at Esna Park Drive.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Warden Avenue at Gibson Drive, beside 7074 Warden Avenue Plaza and at Steeles Avenue East and
  • on Steeles Avenue East west of Acadia Avenue, at Ferrier Street, across from Firebrace Drive and at Esna Park Drive.

Eastbound buses reverse the westbound detour routing.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Denison Street east of Esna Park Drive, west of Hood Road and at Hood Road and Warden Avenue.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Esna Park Drive at Steelcase Road,
  • on Steeles Avenue East at Firebrace Drive and across from Ferrier Street and Acadia Avenue and
  • on Warden Avenue north of Steeles Avenue East, across from 7074 Warden Plaza and at Masseyfield Gate.
