The City of Toronto has closed:
- Lower Sherbourne Street, northbound lanes, between Front Street East and Lake Shore Boulevard East
since Tuesday, April 7, during a project to:
- Permanently close the Gardiner Expressway exit ramp to Sherbourne Street. (The exit ramp to Lower Jarvis Street will remain open);
- rebuild the roadway and build bike lanes; and
- rebuild the sidewalks and install streetscaping features.
Next week, the work completely blocks the intersection of Lower Sherbourne with The Esplanade.
The TTC is detouring buses operating along these routes, while the intersection is closed:

From 7 a.m. Monday, June 22 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, westbound buses operate along their regular route to The Esplanade and Princess Street, then detour:
northward along Princess;
westward along Front Street East; and then
southward along Frederick Street to The Esplanade,
resuming their regular route westward along The Esplanade.Westbound buses skip their regular stop
- on The Esplanade at Lower Sherbourne Street.
Eastbound buses reverse the westbound detour routing.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Princess Street south of Front Street East and at The Esplanade.
75 Sherbourne
From 7 a.m. Tuesday, April 7 until 5 a.m. Sunday, June 28, southbound buses operate along their regular route. Expect delays.
Northbound buses operate along their regular route to Lower Jarvis Street and The Esplanade, then detour:
northward along Lower Jarvis; and then
eastward along Front Street East to Lower Sherbourne / Sherbourne Street,
resuming their regular route northward along Sherbourne.Northbound buses skip their regular stops
- on The Esplanade at Frederick and Lower Sherbourne Streets and
- on Lower Sherbourne Street at Front Street East.
