GO revises services, June 27



GO Transit is increasing train and bus service along several lines and routes, starting Saturday, June 27.

GO’s also resuming its seasonal weekend train services along the 65 Barrie line, starting Saturday and along the 12 Niagara Falls line, starting Friday, July 3.


GO is revising service along these routes: 01 Lakeshore West train, 11 Niagara-on-the-Lake / St. Catharines, 12 Niagara Falls train, 12 Niagara Falls / Burlington bus, 15 McMaster, 18 Lakeshore West bus, 19 Oakville / North York, 20 Milton / Oakville, 37 Orangeville / Brampton, 38 Bolton / Malton / North York, 52 Oshawa / York U, 61 Richmond Hill / Toronto, 63 King City / Toronto, 65 Barrie train, 65 Newmarket / Toronto bus, 68 Barrie / Newmarket, 70 Uxbridge / Stouffville / Markham, 92 Oshawa / Yorkdale, 96 Oshawa / Finch express.


Specifically, GO is: increasing service along routes; decreasing service along routes; resuming seasonal service along routes; and adjusting the schedules for buses operating along routes.


Increasing service along routes


65 Barrie train

Starting Saturday, June 29, resumes its summer weekend train service along the line.

Southbound trains leave Allandale Waterfront GO Station at 9:40 a.m. and 2:10, 3:51 and 8:10 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The trains serve all stations along the line and end their trips in Union Station at 11:18 a.m. and 3:48, 5:31 and 9:48 p.m.

Northbound trains leave Union at 12:40, 4:40, 6:40 and 10:40 p.m. They serve all stations along the line and end their trips in Allandale Waterfront GO Station at 1:55, 5:55, 7:55 and 11:55 p.m.

GO is extending some trips along the 68 Barrie / Newmarket so that buses connect with the trains at Aurora GO Station.

Summer weekend train service ends Labour Day, Monday, September 7.

68 Barrie / Newmarket

68C branch

Starting Saturday, June 28, the northbound buses that usually leave Newmarket GO Bus Terminal at 1:30, 5:35, 7:25 and 11:10 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays start, instead, at Aurora GO Station. They leave Aurora at 1:19, 5:19, 7:19 and 11:19 p.m., and serve all stops to Barrie Bus Terminal, ending their trips at 2:57, 6:57, 8:54 p.m. and 12:04 a.m. You can transfer to these buses from the northbound seasonal weekend trains that arrive in Aurora GO Station at 1:09, 5:09, 7:09 and 11:09 p.m.

Southbound buses leave Barrie Bus Terminal at 8:43 a.m. and 1:08, 2:49 and 7:13 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The buses arrive in Aurora at 10:11 a.m., 2:41, 4:22 and 8:41 p.m. so that you can connect to the southbound seasonal weekend trains that leave Aurora at 10:26 a.m. and 2:56, 4:47 and 8:56 p.m.

GO designates these trips as operating along the “68C branch”, instead of the “68 branch” on its schedules.

Seasonal summer weekend service ends Labour Day, Monday, September 7.

18 Lakeshore West bus

18 branch

Starting Monday, June 29, GO operates westbound buses on two new Monday-to-Friday trips along the route. The buses leave Hamilton GO Centre at 6 a.m. and 4:29 p.m. They end their trips in Aldershot GO Station bus terminal at 6:15 a.m. and 4:46 p.m.

GO is also adjusting the schedule for buses operating along the route.

01 Lakeshore West train

Starting Monday, June 29, GO operates eastbound trains on two new Monday-to-Friday trips along the line. One leaves Aldershot GO Station at 6:30 a.m., dropping off and picking up passengers at all stations to Clarkson GO Station. It then operates express — without stopping** to Union Station, ending its trip at 7:24 a.m.

Another leaves Bronte GO Station at 7:27 a.m., dropping off and picking up passengers at all stations to Clarkson. It then operates express — without stopping** to Union Station, ending its trip at 8:04 a.m.

Also starting Monday, June 29, the eastbound train that usually leaves Oakville GO Station at 5:35 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, leaves, instead, from Aldershot GO Station at 5:01 p.m. It drops off or picks up passengers at all stations along the line, serving Oakville and all stations eastward as much as five minutes earlier than usually. It ends its trip in Union at 6:11 p.m.

The westbound train that leaves Union at 4:43 p.m. and usually ends its trip in Oakville at 5:24 p.m., continues further westward to Aldershot. It ends its trip at 5:51 p.m.

GO is also adjusting the schedule for other trains operating along the line. It’s also adjusting the schedules for buses that connect with the trains and operate along the 12 Niagara Falls / Burlington, 15 McMaster, 18 Lakeshore West and 20 Oakville / Milton routes.

15 McMaster

Starting Monday, June 29, GO operates an eastbound bus on a **new Monday-to-Friday trip along the route. The bus leaves McMaster University GO Bus Terminal at 4:31 p.m. It ends its trip in Aldershot GO Station bus terminal at 4:46 p.m.

GO is also adjusting the schedule for buses operating along the route.

Starting Monday, June 29, GO operates a northbound bus on a new Monday-to-Friday trip along the branch.

The bus leaves Union Station GO Bus Terminal at 10:40 p.m. It ends its trip in Aurora GO Station at 11:25 p.m.

61 Richmond Hill / Toronto bus

Starting Monday, June 29, GO operates a northbound bus on a new Monday-to-Friday trip along the route. The bus leaves Union Station GO Bus Terminal at 9:10 p.m. It ends its trip in Richmond Hill GO Station bus terminal at 9:55 p.m.

Decreasing service along routes


65 Newmarket / Toronto bus

65A branch

Sunday, June 21 was the last day until September that GO operated the southbound buses that usually leave Newmarket GO Bus Terminal at 10:10 and 10:40 a.m. and 2:10, 2:40, 4:10 and 4:40 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. (The buses usually ended their trips in Union Station GO Bus Terminal at 11:15 and 11:45 a.m. and 3:20, 3:50, 5:20 and 5:45 p.m.)

Instead, starting Saturday, June 27, you can board southbound seasonal weekend trains that leave Newmarket GO Station at 10:20 a.m. and 2:50, 4:31 and 8:50 p.m. The trains end their trips in Union Station at 11:18 a.m. and 3:48, 5:31 and 9:48 p.m.

Sunday, June 22 was also the last day until September that GO operated the northbound buses that usually leave Union Station GO Bus Terminal at 11:40 a.m. and 12:10, 12:40, 3:40, 4:10, 4:40, 5:40, 6:10, 6:40 and 10:10 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. (The buses usually ended their trips in Newmarket GO Bus Terminal at 12:40, 1:15, 1:45, 3:45, 5:20, 5:50, 6:50, 7:20, 7:45 and 10:10 p.m.)

Instead, starting Saturday, June 27, you can board northbound seasonal weekend trains that leave Union Station at 12:20, 4:20, 6:20 or 10:20 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The trains arrive in Newmarket GO Station at 1:55, 5:55, 7:55 and 11:55 p.m.

Seasonal summer weekend service ends Labour Day, Monday, September 7. GO resumes these trips along the branch Saturday, September 12.

70 Uxbridge / Stouffville / Markham

70E branch

Friday, June 26 was the last day until September that GO operates the northbound bus that usually leaves Unionville GO Station at 4:01 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. (The bus usually ended its trip in Mount Joy GO Station bus terminal at 4:26 p.m.)

Instead, passengers can board a northbound bus operating along the 70 branch that also leaves Unionville at 4:01 p.m. That bus arrives in Mount Joy at 4:21 p.m., then continues to Uxbridge. It ends its trip on Railway Street across from Spruce Street at 5:06 p.m.

Resuming seasonal service along routes


65 Barrie train

Starting Saturday, June 27, GO resumes its summer weekend train service along the line.

12 Niagara Falls train

GO resumes seasonal weekend service along the route.

Starting Friday, July 3, a train leaves Union Station at 6:20 p.m. Fridays. It arrives in St. Catharines VIA Rail Station at 7:58 p.m. It ends its trip in Niagara Falls VIA Rail Station at 8:24 p.m. A return train leaves Niagara Falls at 8:40 p.m. and arrives in St. Catharines at 9:05 p.m. It ends its trip in Union Station at 10:44 p.m.

Starting Saturday, July 4, trains leave Union at 9 a.m. and 4:18 and 8:10 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. They arrive in St. Catharines at 10:38 a.m., 5:56 and 9:48 p.m. They end their trips in Niagara Falls at 11:04 a.m. and 6:22 and 10:14 p.m.

Trains leave Niagara Falls at 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. and 7:20 and 10:30 p.m. They arrive in St. Catharines at 8:55 and 11:55 a.m. and 7:45 and 10:55 p.m. They end their trips in Union at 10:34 a.m., 1:34 and 9:24 p.m. and 12:34 a.m.

Buses operating along the 11 Niagara-on-the-Lake / St. Catharines route connect with the trains at St. Catharines VIA Rail Canada Station.

Seasonal summer weekend service ends Labour Day, Monday, September 7.

11 Niagara-on-the-Lake / St. Catharines

GO resumes seasonal weekend service along the route.

Starting Friday, July 3, a train from Union Station arrives in St. Catharines VIA Rail Station at 7:58 p.m. Fridays. A train from Niagara Falls arrives in St. Catharines at 9:05 p.m.

Buses meet both trains. One leaves St. Catharines at 8:08 p.m. and operates express — without stopping — and end its trip on King Street south of Picton Street in at 8:48 p.m. Another leaves Niagara-on-the-Lake at 8:05 p.m. and ends its trip in St. Catharines at 8:50 p.m.

Starting Saturday, July 4, GO trains operating along the 12 Niagara Falls line** from Union arrive in St. Catharines at 10:38 a.m., 5:56 and 9:48 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Trains from Niagara Falls arrive in St. Catharines at 8:55 and 11:55 a.m. and 7:45 and 10:55 p.m.

Buses meet the trains. They leave St. Catharines VIA Rail Station at 10:48 a.m., 6:06 and 9:58 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. They end their trips in Niagara-on-the-Lake at 11:33 a.m. and 6:46 and 10:38 p.m. Buses leave Niagara-on-the-Lake at 7:55 and 10:55 a.m. and 6:40 and 9:55 p.m. They end their trips in St. Catharines at 8:40 and 11:40 a.m. and 7:30 and 9:40 p.m.

Seasonal summer weekend service ends Labour Day, Monday, September 7.

Adjusting the schedules of routes


68 Barrie / Newmarket

Starting Saturday, June 27, the northbound buses that usually leave Newmarket GO Bus Terminal at 3:20, 4:20 and 9:15 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays leave, instead, five minutes later at 3:25, 4:25 and 9:20 p.m. The buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route as much as five minutes later than usually, ending their trips in Barrie Bus Terminal at 4:40, 5:40 and 10:30 p.m.

Also starting Saturday, June 27, the northbound buses that usually leave Newmarket GO Bus Terminal at 1:20, 5:25, 7:25 and 11:15 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays start, instead, at Aurora GO Station. They leave Aurora at 1:19, 5:19, 7:19 and 11:19 p.m., and serve all stops to Barrie Bus Terminal, ending their trips at 2:57, 6:57, 10:54 and 11:52 p.m. You can transfer to these buses from the northbound seasonal weekend trains that arrive in Aurora GO Station at 1:09, 5:09, 7:09 and 11:09 p.m.

The bus arrives in Aurora at 10:11 a.m. so that you can connect with the southbound seasonal weekend train that leaves Aurora at 10:26 a.m. The bus also drops off or picks up passengers at stops north of Newmarket as much as seven minutes earlier than usually.

The southbound buses that usually leave Barrie Bus Terminal at 12:45 and 6:50 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays leave, instead, 23 minutes later at 1:08 and 7:13 p.m. and continue to Aurora GO Station, instead of ending their trips in Newmarket GO Bus Terminal. The buses arrive in Aurora at 2:41 and 8:41 p.m. so that you can connect to the southbound seasonal weekend trains that leave Aurora at 2:50 and 8:50 p.m. The buses also drop off or pick up passengers at stops north of Newmarket as much as 23 minutes later than usually.

The southbound bus that usually leaves Barrie Bus Terminal at 2:45 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays leaves, instead, four minutes later at 2:49 p.m. and continues Aurora GO Station, instead of ending its trip at Newmarket GO Bus Terminal. The bus arrives in Aurora at 4:22 p.m. so that you can connect to the southbound seasonal weekend train that leaves Aurora at 4:31 p.m. The bus also drops off or picks up passengers at stops north of Newmarket as much as four minutes later than usually.

GO designates these trips as operating along the “68C branch”, instead of the “68 branch” on its schedules.

Seasonal summer weekend service ends Labour Day, Monday, September 7. GO again operate these trips to and from Newmarket GO Bus Terminal, starting Saturday, September 12.

Starting Monday, June 29, the southbound bus that usually leaves Queen Street North across from Columbia Way in Bolton at 8:55 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, one minute earlier at 8:54 a.m. It ends its trip in Malton GO Station bus terminal at 9:29 a.m.

18 Lakeshore West bus

It ends its trip in Union Station at 7:13 a.m.

The eastbound train that usually leaves Hamilton at 7:05 a.m. leaves, instead, five minutes earlier at 7 a.m. It ends its trip in Union at 8:12 a.m.

The eastbound train that usually leaves Oakville GO Station at 7:25 a.m. leaves, instead, five minutes earlier at 7:20 a.m. It ends its trip in Union at 8:06 a.m.

The eastbound train that usually leaves Aldershot GO Station at 7:07 a.m. leaves, instead, seven minutes earlier at 7 a.m. It ends its trip in Union Station at 7:57 a.m.

The westbound train that usually leaves Union at 5:25 p.m. leaves, instead, two minutes earlier at 5:23 p.m. It ends its trip in Aldershot at 6:21 p.m.

GO says, “These train time changes are in preparation for the start of regular weekday GO Train service to the new West Harbour GO Station on July 9 and to improve overall service frequency and ease crowding”.

15 McMaster

The westbound bus that leaves Finch GO Bus Terminal at 6:25 a.m. Mondays to Fridays usually leaves Yorkdale GO Bus Terminal at 6:45 a.m. Instead, it leaves Yorkdale five minutes earlier than usually, at 6:40 a.m. It ends its trip in Square One GO Bus Terminal at 7:15 a.m.

Starting Monday, June 29, the southbound bus that usually leaves Orangeville Mall at 5:29 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, five minutes later at 5:34 a.m. It ends its trip in Downtown Brampton Terminal at 6:24 a.m.

GO is also further adjusting the schedule for buses operating along the route to better reflect actual travel times.

Starting Saturday, June 27, all westbound buses operating along the route leave Brock Road and Highway 7 two minutes later than previously. The delay results from ongoing construction to extend Highway 407 further eastward.

Starting Monday, June 29, GO is adjusting the schedules for all buses operating to and from Union Station GO Bus Terminal. It’s adding more time to the schedules to maintain the reliability of the service during construction on the Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway.
