The ParaPan Am Games take place in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area from Friday August 7 until Saturday, August 15.

Transit Toronto’s posts about special services that help you travel to and from the games and how the events also affect regular transit services starts with information about venues in the City of Toronto.

Games events take place in several venues in Toronto:

Also, transit agencies are also changing some services for passengers heading to all venues.

As part of the games’ wayfinding system, these codes appear on transit stops, maps and other signs to help visitors travel to and from the venues.

Saturday, July 11 until Sunday, August 16

The TTC is temporarily postponing overnight construction in the subway tunnel north of Lawrence Station overnight after midnight early Mondays to Saturdays.

Subway trains operate between Finch and Lawrence Station every night during regular subway-service hours.

Sunday, August 9

Service starts earlier than usually. Trains drop off or pick up passengers at stations along the line every 4 minutes 52 seconds before 9 a.m.

You can ride trains along this line to and from the CIBC ParaPan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House, CIBC ParaPan Am Athletics Stadium, Nathan Phillips Square, Pan Am Fields, the Ryerson Athletic Centre and Varsity Stadium.

The TTC is re-introducing service along this temporary non-stop express route during the games.

Westbound buses start their trips in Aquatics Centre loop on the south side of Military Trail north of Ellesmere Road, then proceed:

northwestward along Military;
northward along Morningside Avenue;
westward along Highway 401;
northward along Highway 404;
westward along Sheppard Avenue East; and then
northward into Don Mills Station,
ending their trips.

Eastbound buses start their trips in Don Mills Station terminal, then proceed:

eastward along Sheppard Avenue East;
north- and eastward along Fairview Mall Drive;
southward along Highway 404;
eastward along Highway 401;
southward along Morningside Avenue;
southeastward along Military Trail; and then
southward into Aquatics Centre loop,
ending their trips.

The TTC revises the path for buses operating along the branch:

Westbound buses operate along their regular route to Military Trail and Ellesmere Road, then proceed:

southward along Morningside Avenue to Ellesmere,
resuming their regular route westward along Ellesmere.

It’s also increasing the frequency of service along the route.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route from about 8 a.m. until noon Sundays and holidays:

  • every 10 minutes, instead of every 12 minutes.

The TTC is detouring south- and westbound buses to avoid congestion near the Aquatic Centre during the games.

The buses operate along their regular route to Military Trail and Ellesmere Road, then proceed:

northwestward along Military;
westward into the Aquatics Centre Loop on the south side of Military north of Ellesmere;
northwestward along Military; and then
southward along Morningside Avenue to Ellesmere,
resuming their regular route southward along Morningside.

The TTC is introducing service along this temporary non-stop express route during the games.

Southbound buses start their trips in the Aquatics Centre loop, then proceed:

southeastward along Military Trail
westward along Old Kingston Road; and then
northward along Miller / Lash park road to the University of Toronto Scarborough Tennis Centre parking lot,
ending their trips.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound routing.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 10 minutes.

Southbound buses leave Aquatic Centre loop at 8 a.m. and every 10 minutes until 6:50 p.m. Northbound buses leave the tennis centre at 8:10 a.m. and every 10 minutes until 7 p.m.

The TTC is temporarily introducing new express service between the University of Toronto’s Scarborough campus and York Mills Station. Buses operate every 10 minutes before 10 p.m.

Westbound buses leave U of T Scarborough at 7:15 a.m. and every 10 minutes until 9:45 p.m. Eastbound buses leave York Mills Station at 6:25 a.m. and about every 10 minutes until 10:28 p.m.

95 York Mills local

The TTC is revising the path for buses operating along the route, while the street is closed.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route to Cherry Street and Lake Shore Boulevard East, then detour:

westward along Lake Shore East; and then
northward along Parliament Street to Mill Street,
resuming their regular route northward along Parliament.

Westbound buses skip these stops until Thursday, October 1:

  • on Mill Street west of Cherry Street and at Trinity and Parliament Streets.

The City of Toronto is closing:

  • Hoskin Avenue between Devonshire Place and Queen’s Park Crescent West

to accommodate the events.

The TTC is revising the path for buses operating along the route, while the street is closed.

Eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Harbord Street and Spadina Avenue, then detour:

northward along Spadina;
eastward along Bloor Street West; and then
southward along Queen’s Park and Queen’s Park Crescent West to Hoskin Avenue,
resuming their regular route southward along Queen’s Park West.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Harbord Street at Huron and St. George Streets and
  • on Hoskin Avenue beside Wycliffe College.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Spadina Avenue at Sussex Avenue,
  • on Bloor Street West at St. George Street, across from Bedford Road and at Queen’s Park,
  • on Queen’s Park across from Charles Street West [beside Museum Station] and
  • on Queen’s Park Crescent West at Hoskin Avenue.

For this venue, board or exit from eastbound buses on Queen’s Park Crescent West at Hoskin Avenue or on Wellesley Street West beside the Ontario Legislature.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route to Queen’s Park Crescents East and West and Queen’s Park, then detour:

northward along Queen’s Park;
westward along Bloor Street West; and then
southward along Spadina Avenue to Harbord Street,
resuming their regular route westward along Harbord.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Queen’s Park Crescent East north of St. Joseph Street
  • on Queen’s Park north of Charles Street West [beside Museum Station],
  • on Bloor Street West at Bedford Road and St. George Street and
  • on Spadina Road at Sussex Avenue and Harbord Street.

Southbound buses start their trips in the Aquatics Centre loop, then proceed:

southeastward along Military Trail
westward along Old Kingston Road; and then
northward along Miller / Lash park road to the University of Toronto Scarborough Tennis Centre parking lot,
ending their trips.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound routing.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 10 minutes.

Southbound buses leave Aquatic Centre loop at 8 a.m. and every 10 minutes until 6:50 p.m. Northbound buses leave the tennis centre at 8:10 a.m. and every 10 minutes until 7 p.m.
