Eglinton Crosstown LRT -- Avenue:
Equipment installation, August 17 to 19

eglinton crosstown logo.png

Metrolinx contractors are working to build the future Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line.

Crews are installing underground monitoring equipment at various points along Eglinton Avenue West. The equipment measures the work of the tunnel-boring machines, as they proceed underground. The data they provide allows construction crews to adjust tunneling activities under the street, if necessary.

They’re installing the equipment at the intersection of Avenue Road and Eglinton Avenue West, from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day, starting today, Monday, August 17 and continuing until Wednesday, August 19. They’ll be working in, and temporarily blocking, one lane of traffic to drill and install the monitors. They’ll use cones to separate the work zone from traffic. A “paid-duty” Toronto Police Service officer will be on the site to direct traffic. The work will not block sidewalks and pedestrians will have access to all businesses.
