Milton Transit detours start August 28



The Town of Milton is closing:

  • Main Street West between Scott Boulevard and Bronte Street

during a project to rebuild the roadway.

Milton Transit is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed.

  • 6 Scott.

Construction and the detour continue until November 30.


6 Scott

From Friday, August 28 until Monday, November 30, inbound buses operate along their regular route to Pringle Avenue and Scott Boulevard, then detour:

southward along Scott;
eastward along Derry West; and then
northward along Ontario Street South to Main Street East,
resuming their regular route eastward along Main East.

Inbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Scott Boulevard across from Pringle Avenue, north of Porch Gate, at Forbes Terrace, north of Kendall Drive and at Main Street West,
  • on Main Street West at Whitmer Street and
  • on Main Street East east of Bronte Street South, at Brown and Fulton Streets and Court and Ontario Streets South.

Instead, inbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Scott Boulevard across from Athlone Drive, at Baylis Court, at Landsborough Avenue, West Drive and Derry Road West,
  • on Derry Road West west of Bronte Street South, east of Bronte Street South, at Farmstead Drive, east of Santa Maria Boulevard and west of Ontario Street South and
  • on Ontario Street South south of Laurier Avenue, north of Laurier Avenue, across from Valleyview Crescent, north of Centennial Forest Drive, across from Donald Campbell Road and Wakefield Road [south and north] and at Pine Street.

Outbound buses operate along their regular route to Main Street East and Ontario Street, then detour:

southward along Ontario South; and then
westward along Derry Road West to Scott Boulevard,
resuming their regular route westward along Derry West.

Outbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Main Street East east of Ontario Street North, at Court Street North and Millside Drive, west of James Street and at Bronte Street North,
  • on Main Street West across from Whitmer Street,
  • on Scott Boulevard south of Main Street West, Hungerford Gate and Forbes Terrace, at Pringle Avenue, across from Athlone Drive, at Baylis Court, at Landsborough Avenue, West Drive and Derry Road West.

Instead, outbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Ontario Street South at Pine Street, south of Wakefield Road [north], at Wakefield Road [south], south of Donald Campbell Avenue, at Parkway Drive East and Valleyview Crescent, north of Laurier Avenue and south of Laurier Avenue and
  • on Derry Road West west of Ontario Street South, at Commercial Street, Farmstead Drive, east of Bronte Street South and west of Bronte Street South.
