No streetcar service, September 19, 20,
east of St Clair West station

This weekend, Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20, TTC crews are working in the streetcar loop at St Clair Station east of Yonge Street.

While they work in the loop, buses replace the cars along the east end of the 512 St Clair line. Streetcars operate between Gunns Loop (west of Keele Street) and St Clair West Station only. Buses operate between St Clair West and St Clair Station. Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops beside the curb, instead of at the “island” streetcar stops in the centre of the roadway. Passengers traveling further west or east must transfer in the terminal at St Clair West Station.

Regular streetcar service resumes along the entire line after 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The TTC is conducting a geotechnical field investigation in the streetcar loop over those two days. They’ll cut, drill and core at the east end of the loop (along the curve) to gather ground samples. To make sure passengers on the streetcar platform are safe, they’ll separate the work area with a barrier.

The crews will generally work from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday.

Expect noise and vibration.

The TTC continues to detour buses from the lower terminal at St Clair Station, while crews upgrade and repave the terminal roadway. Buses drop off or pick up passengers on Pleasant Boulevard.
