Metrolinx and York Region contractors continue the project to build a rapidway — bus-only lanes in the centre of the roadway — along Davis Drive in Newmarket.
As crews get ready to pave the centre lane rapidway on Davis, they’re restricting traffic movements at the intersection with Roxborough Road / Patterson Street, starting Friday, September 25. They’ll maintain access to Southlake Regional Health Centre for both motorists and pedestrians.
During this phase of construction:
- You can’t turn left through the intersection.
- North- and southbound motorists can only turn right onto Davis.
- Eastbound motorists must turn left onto Huron Heights Drive, then follow a detour route to access Patterson Street. Signs direct you along the detour.
- Westbound motorists may U-turn at Prospect Street / Lundy’s Lane to access Roxborough Road or Southlake Regional Health Centre.
This phase of construction at Davis / Roxborough / Patterson continues until September 30.
During all phases of Davis Drive rapidway construction, expect delays for GO Transit buses operating along this route:
- 65 Newmarket / Toronto.
Also expect delays for York Region Transit buses operating along these routes:
- 44 Bristol;
- 50 Queensway;
- 54 Bayview;
- 55 / 55B Davis Drive;
- 58 Mount Albert;
- 223 Newmarket GO shuttle; and
- 520 / 521 Newmarket community bus.
