Toronto Transit Commission meets, September 28

The Toronto Transit Commission meets Monday, September 28 at 10:30 a.m. in Committee Room #2, Second Floor, City Hall, 100 Queen Street West.

The commission is the TTC’s board of directors. It oversees matters of policy and planning, building, maintaining and operating the TTC system and expanding its services and facilities.

Commissioners include City of Toronto councillors and members of the public.

During the meeting, the commissioners will discuss, among other items, staff reports recommending that they approve:

  • improving service to the Tapscott Industrial Area, affecting the 42 Cummer and 102 Markham Rd routes. (You can read the staff report here. (.pdf))

They will also review:

  • the monthly report from Chief Executive Officer Andy Byford for September 2015. (You can read the report here. (.pdf))
  • a presentation from Byford reviewing TTC services during the Pan Am / ParaPan Am Games. (You can view the presentation here. (.pdf))
  • a presentation outlining the results of the most recent TTC customer-satisfaction survey. (You can view the presentation here. (.pdf))
  • a presentation proposing new fare policies once the PRESTO fare-card system is more generally in place on the TTC. (You can read the request here (.pdf)).
  • a progress report on the TTC’s fare inspection pilot program. (You can read the report, here.)

The agenda also contains several important items with confidential attachments, including:

TTC, Metrolinx and City of Toronto staff will also make a joint presentation to the board on the status of various major transit projects in Toronto, but the agenda did not contain the agenda.
