Eglinton / Eastgate construction:
MiWay detour, October 6, 7



Construction is blocking the intersection of Eglinton Avenue East and Eastgate Parkway from 11 p.m. Tuesday, October 6 until 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 7 and from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 4:30 a.m. Thursday, October 8.

MiWay is detouring buses operating along these routes, while the intersection is closed:

  • 7 Airport; and
  • 35 Eglinton.

MiWay has not announced what construction is occurring, but the work likely results from the nearby project to extend the Mississauga Transitway.

7 Airport

From 11 p.m. Tuesday, October 6 until 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 7 and from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 4:30 a.m. Thursday, October 8, southbound buses operate along their their regular long-term detour routing to Tahoe Boulevard and Eastgate Parkway, then detour:

south- and westward along Eastgate; and then
northward along Dixie Road to Eglinton Avenue East,
resuming their regular route westward along Eglinton East.

Southbound skip buses their regular stops

  • on Eglinton Avenue East west of Creekbank Road and at Matheson Boulevard and Dixie Road.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Dixie Road beside Dixie Transitway station, at South Gateway Road and across from Crestlawn Drive.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour routing.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Eglinton Avenue East east of Dixie Road, across from Matheson Boulevard and at Eastgate Boulevard and
  • on Eastgate Parkway south of Eglinton Avenue East.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Dixie Road at Crestlawn Drive, across from South Gateway Road and beside Dixie Transitway Station and
  • on Eastgate Parkway at Fieldgate Drive and Tahoe Boulevard.
35 Eglinton

From 11 p.m. Tuesday, October 6 until 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 7 and from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 4:30 a.m. Thursday, October 8, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Eglinton Avenue East and Dixie Road, then detour:

southward along Dixie;
east- and northward along Eastgate Parkway to Tahoe Boulevard,
resuming their regular long-term detour routing eastward along Tahoe.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Eglinton Avenue East east of Dixie Road, across from Matheson Boulevard and at Eastgate Boulevard and
  • on Eastgate Parkway south of Eglinton Avenue East.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Dixie Road at Crestlawn Drive, across from South Gateway Road and beside Dixie Transitway Station and
  • on Eastgate Parkway at Fieldgate Drive and Tahoe Boulevard.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour routing.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Eglinton Avenue East west of Creekbank Road and at Matheson Boulevard and Dixie Road.

  • on Dixie Road beside Dixie Transitway station, at South Gateway Road and across from Crestlawn Drive.
