Bathurst / Queen West overhead wiring:
TTC construction, detours, October 6 to 9



The TTC is turning off the power and upgrading the overhead streetcar wiring at

  • the intersection of Bathurst Street with Queen Street West

overnight three nights this week.

It’s also detouring streetcars operating along these routes, while work proceeds:

  • 301 Queen overnight;
  • 501 Queen; and
  • 511 Bathurst.

Shuttle buses replace the cars on Queen Street West between Dufferin Street and University Avenue. These buses operate through the intersection.

Shuttle buses also replace the cars on Bathurst Street between Bathurst Station and Fleet Street. These buses also operate through the intersection.

Buses operating along the 310 Bathurst overnight route continue to serve their regular route through the intersection.

511 Bathurst

After 11:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, Wednesday, October 7 and Thursday, October 8, southbound streetcars operate along their regular route to Bathurst Street and Dundas Street West, then detour:

eastward along Dundas West;
southward along Spadina Avenue; and then
westward along King Street West to Bathurst,
resuming their regular route southward along Bathurst.

Southbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Bathurst Street beside #276 Bathurst, at Robinson Street, Queen Street West, Portugal Square and King Street West.

Instead, southbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Dundas Street West at Denison and Spadina Avenues,
  • on Spadina Avenue south of Dundas Street West, across from Sullivan Street, south of Queen Street West and at King Street West and
  • on King Street West west of Brant Street and at Portland and Bathurst Streets.

Shuttle buses replace the cars, operating between Bathurst Station and Fleet Street. Southbound streetcar passengers may transfer to southbound buses at any stop between Bathurst Station and Dundas Street West.

Northbound cars reverse the southbound detour routing.

Northbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Bathurst Street at Adelaide and Queen Streets West, north of Carr Street and at Dundas Street West.

Instead, northbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on King Street West at Portland Street, across from Brant Street and at Spadina Avenue,
  • on Spadina Avenue north of King Street West, at Richmond Street West and north of Queen Street West and Sullivan Street and
  • on Dundas Street West at Denison Avenue and at Bathurst Street.

Northbound streetcar passengers may transfer to northbound buses at any stop between Fleet Street and King Street West.

511 Bathurst shuttle bus

From 11:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, Wednesday, October 7 and Thursday, October 8, buses replace streetcars operating along the 511 Bathurst route between Dundas and King Streets West.

Southbound buses start their trips in Bathurst Station terminal, then proceed:

southward along Bathurst;
westward along Fleet Street; and then
southward into Fleet Loop,
ending their trips.

Southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops:

  • in Bathurst Station terminal,
  • on Bathurst Street at Bloor Street West, Harbord, Ulster, College and Nassau Streets, Dundas Street West, beside #276 Bathurst, at Robinson Street, Queen Street West, Portugal Square and King Street West, south of Niagara Street and at Fort York Boulevard and
  • on Fleet Street west of Bathurst and Bastion Streets.

Southbound bus passengers may transfer to southbound streetcars at any stop between King Street West and Fleet Street.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound routing.

Northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Fleet Street across from Bastion Street and at Bathurst Street,
  • on Bathurst Street at Fort York Boulevard, Niagara Street, King, Adelaide and Queen Streets West, north of Carr Street, at Dundas Street West, at Nassau, College, Ulster, Harbord and Lennox Streets and Bloor Street West and
  • in Bathurst Station terminal.

From 11:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 6 until 4 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, from 11:30 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m., Thursday, October 8 and from 11:30 p.m., Thursday until 4 a.m., Friday, October 9, eastbound streetcars operate along their regular route to Queen Street West and Shaw Street, then detour:

southward along Shaw;
eastward along King Street East; and then
northward along Spadina Avenue to Queen West,
resuming their regular route eastward along Queen.

Eastbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Queen Street West at Strachan Avenue, Niagara, Tecumseth and Bathurst Streets and Augusta and Spadina Avenues.

Instead, eastbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Shaw Street across from Adelaide Street West,
  • on King Street West at Strachan Avenue, Niagara, Tecumseth, Bathurst and Portland Streets, across from Brant Street and at Spadina Avenue and
  • on Spadina Avenue north of King Street West and at Richmond Street West.

301 / 501 Queen shuttle buses

From 11:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 6 until 4 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, from 11:30 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m., Thursday, October 8 and from 11:30 p.m., Thursday until 4 a.m., Friday, October 9, buses replace streetcars operating along the 301 Queen overnight and 501 Queen routes between Shaw Street and Spadina Avenue.

Eastbound buses start their trips in Dufferin Gate Loop, then proceed:

northward along Dufferin Street; and then
eastward along Queen Street West to University Avenue,
ending their trips.

Eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Dufferin Gate Loop,
  • on Dufferin Street at Liberty Street, King Street West, across from Melbourne Street and at Queen Street West,
  • on Queen Street West across from Gladstone Avenue, at Abell Street, Dovercourt Road, Ossington Avenue, Shaw Street, Strachan Avenue, Niagara, Tecumseth and Bathurst Streets, Augusta and Spadina Avenues, Peter, John and Duncan Streets and University Avenue.

Eastbound bus passengers may transfer to eastbound streetcars at any stop between Shaw and Dufferin Streets.

Westbound buses start their trips on Queen Street West at University Avenue, then proceed:

westward along Queen West;
southward along Dufferin Street;
westward along Springhurst Avenue;
southward along Fort-Rouille Street; and then
eastward into Dufferin Gate Loop,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Queen Street West at University Avenue, west of Simcoe Street, at McCaul, John and Soho Streets, Spadina, Augusta and Denison Avenues, Bathurst Street, Palmerston Avenue, Claremont Street, across from Strachan Avenue, at Shaw Street, Ossington Avenue, Dovercourt Road and Beaconsfield Avenue.
  • on Dufferin Street at Melbourne Street and King Street West, across from Liberty Street and at Springhurst Avenue and
  • in Dufferin Gate Loop.
