Just four events affect transit services this weekend.

The events take place in Guelph, the Lindsay area of Kawartha Lakes and Toronto.

You can ride any Guelph Transit bus for free Friday, October 23 to the Guelph Storm game against the Niagara Ice Dogs at 7:30 p.m. — if you have a valid ticket to the game. You can ride free of fare to and from the Sleeman Centre Friday evening after 5 p.m. by simply showing the Guelph Transit driver your game ticket.

Saturday mornings until October 31, the City of Kawartha Lakes is closing

  • Victoria Avenue North between Peel Street and Kent Street West

during the weekly market.

Lindsay Transit is detouring buses to accommodate the event.

Green route

From 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, October 24, inbound buses operate along their regular route to Victoria Avenue North and Peel Street, then detour:

eastward along Peel Street;
southward along Cambridge Street North; and then
westward along Kent Street West to Victoria Avenue North,
resuming their regular route westward along Kent West.

Outbound buses operate along their regular route.

Greek Community of Toronto OXI Day Parade

The City of Toronto is closing

  • Danforth Avenue between Donlands and Logan Avenues

to accommodate the annual parade Sunday afternoon celebrating Greek Independence Day. Parade organizers assemble the floats at Eastern Commerce — southeast of Danforth and Jones Avenues — then march along Danforth Avenue to Alexander the Great Parkette at Logan Avenue.

The event affects TTC services.

From about 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, October 25, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Donlands and Danforth Avenues, then detour:

eastward along Danforth;
southward along Greenwood Avenue; and then
westward along Gerrard Street East to Jones Avenue,
resuming their regular route southward along Jones.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Jones Avenue south of Danforth Avenue, at Strathcona Avenue, across from Shudell Avenue, at Boultbee Avenue, across from Myrtle Avenue and at Gerrard Street East.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Danforth Avenue east of Byron Avenue and at Greenwood Avenue,
  • on Greenwood Avenue south of Danforth and Oakvale Avenues, across from Felstead Avenue and Torbrick Road and at Ivy Avenue and Gerrard Street East and
  • on Gerrard Street East at Prust Avenue and Leslie Street.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour routing.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Jones Avenue north of Gerrard Street East, at Myrtle, Boultbee, Shudell, Baird and Danforth Avenues.

Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Gerrard Street East at Leslie Street and Alton Avenue,
  • on Greenwood Avenue across from Ivy Avenue, at Torbrick Road, Felstead, Mountnoel and Danforth Avenues and
  • on Danforth Avenue at Caithness and Donlands Avenues.

After the parade clears the intersection of Danforth and Jones Avenues, buses resume their regular route.

The TTC continues to detour buses operating along the south end of the route during ongoing construction on Leslie Street south of Queen Street East.

From about 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, October 25, expect delays until after the parade clears the intersection of Danforth and Pape Avenues.


Toronto West Halloween Fest

The City of Toronto is closing

  • Bloor Street West between Jane Street and Runnymede Road

and other streets near the Bloor West Village Business Improvement Area Sunday morning and afternoon to accommodate the annual event, supporting the St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation.

The TTC is detouring buses while the street is closed.

300 Bloor - Danforth overnight

After 5 a.m. Sunday, October 25, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Bloor Street West and Jane Street, then detour:

northward along Jane;
eastward along Annette Street; and then
southward along Runnymede Road to Bloor West,
resuming their regular route eastward along Bloor.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Bloor Street West at Jane Street, Windermere Avenue and Runnymede Road.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Jane Street north of Bloor Street West, at Weatherell Street, north of Colbeck Street, at Ardagh and Annette Streets,
  • on Annette Street east of Jane Street, at Willard and Durie Avenues and Runnymede Road and
  • on Runnymede Road at MacGregor Avenue, across from Glenwood Avenue and at Colbeck Street.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour routing.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Bloor Street West at Windermere Avenue and Jane Street.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Runnymede Road north of Runnymede Station, Colbeck Street and Glenwood Avenue and at Webb Avenue,
  • on Annette Street at Durie and Willard Avenues and
  • on Jane Street south of Baby Point Road and across from Ardagh, Colbeck and Weatherell Streets.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route.

Southbound buses operate along their regular route.

Southbound buses operate along their regular route.
