The TTC is upgrading the overhead wiring so that it can operate its new new accessible Toronto Flexity streetcars. Over the past two years, crews have upgrade the overhead wire system throughout the TTC network.

The crews generally work overnight between midnight and 5 a.m. so that they can safely complete this overhead work.

On average, they’ll use two to three overhead trucks with hydraulic equipment. Expect to hear beeping sounds from back-up alarms on the TTC trucks and see bright lights from the equipment overnight.

The crews may temporarily block some traffic lanes as they work.
