A short parade between Market Lane on Woodbridge Avenue and the cenotaph on Wallace Avenue takes place. A ceremony follows at the cenotaph.

From about 10 a.m. until noon Wednesday, November 11, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Woodbridge and Kipling Avenues, then detour:

southward along Kipling;
eastward along Highway 7; and then
northward along Islington Avenue to Woodbridge,
resuming their regular route northward along Islington.

• on Woodbridge Avenue across from James Street, at Wallace Street and across from Clarence Street.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

• on Islington Avenue across from Woodbridge Avenue.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour routing.

• on Woodbridge Avenue at Clarence Street, Market Lane and James Street.

Instead, westbound buses drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

John McCrae House was the home of Lieutenant Colonel John Alexander McCrae, a poet, physician, author, artist and soldier during World War I and a surgeon during the battle of Ypres. On January 28, 1918, while still commanding No. 3 Canadian General Hospital (McGill) at Boulogne, McCrae died of pneumonia.

On Remembrance Day, we remember McCrae for his famous poem, In Flanders Fields.
