Cherry Street construction:
TTC detours start November 26



Update — Wednesday, January 13, 7:58 a.m.: Construction likely ended by December 31, 2015, although the TTC continued to post the detour on its website until early January.


WATERFRONToronto is installing a sanitary sewer main to link the West Don Lands to a new water-treatment facility in the area.

The work blocks

  • Cherry Street, northbound lanes, between Mill Street and the railway bridge north of Lake Shore Boulevard East

starting 6 a.m. Thursday, November 26.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along this route, while the lanes are closed:

  • 172 Cherry St.

Construction continues until mid-December.

Eastbound buses operate along their regular route.

From 6 a.m. Thursday, November 26 until mid-December, westbound buses operate along their regular route to Cherry Street and Lake Shore Boulevard East, then detour:

westward along Lake Shore East; and then
northward along Parliament Street to Mill Street,
resuming their regular route northward along Parliament.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Mill Street west of Parliament Street and at Trinity and Parliament Streets.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Parliament Street at Mill Street.
