Oakville Transit revises routes, services,
November 29



The Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital opens on its new site on Dundas Street West west of Third Line Sunday, December 14. Starting Monday, December 15, Oakville Transit extends the path for buses operating along the 3 Third Line route to serve the new hospital. It’s also increasing the frequency of service along that route at various times of the week, starting today, Sunday, November 29.

Starting tomorrow, Monday, November 30, OT is also adjusting the schedules for buses operating along several routes.


Oakville Transit is revising service along these routes: 2 Lakeshore, 3 Third Line, 13 Westoak Trails, 19 River Oaks, 25 Aspen Forest, 32 Burloak - Great Lakes, 33 Palermo.


Specfically, Oakville Transit is: increasing service along a route, decreasing service along a route, increasing the frequency of service along a route, decreasing the frequency of service along a route, revising the path for buses operating along a route; and adjusting the schedules for buses operating along routes.

Increasing service along a route


3 Third Line

The Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital opens on its new site on Dundas Street West west of Third Line Sunday, December 14. Starting Monday, December 15, Oakville Transit extends the path for buses operating along the route to serve the new hospital.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at new stops

  • at west, north and east entrances to the hospital.

Oakville Transit is also increasing and decreasing the frequency of service along the route.

Decreasing service along a route


3 Third Line

The Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital opens on its new site on Dundas Street West west of Third Line Sunday, December 14. Starting Monday, December 15, Oakville Transit extends the path for buses operating along the route to serve the new hospital.

Starting Monday, December 15, buses operating along the 3 Third Line route no longer drop off or pick up passengers at this stop (although other Oakville Transit buses continue to serve the stop):

  • on Dundas Street West at Proudfoot Trail.

Oakville Transit no longer provides any service to these stops

  • southbound on Proudfoot Trail at Pine Glen Road and
  • westbound on Pine Glen Road at Laszlo Lane and east of Third Line.

Oakville Transit is also increasing and decreasing the frequency of service along the route.

Increasing the frequency of service along a route


3 Third Line

The Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital opens on its new site on Dundas Street West west of Third Line Sunday, December 14. Starting Monday, December 15, Oakville Transit extends the path for buses operating along the route to serve the new hospital.

To improve service to the hospital, OT is also increasing the frequency of service along the route at various times of the week.

Starting Sunday, November 29, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 30 minutes, instead of every 40 minutes, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Starting Monday, November 30, buses serve passengers at stops

  • every 15 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

OT is also decreasing the frequency of service at other times of the week.

Decreasing the frequency of service along a route


3 Third Line

Starting Monday, November 30, Oakville Transit decreases the frequency of service along the route Mondays to Fridays.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 30 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.; and
  • every hour, instead of every 40 minutes, after about 7 p.m.

OT is also increasing the frequency of service at other times of the week and extending the path for buses operating along the route.

Revising the path for buses operating along a route


3 Third Line

The Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital opens on its new site on Dundas Street West west of Third Line Sunday, December 14. Starting Monday, December 15, Oakville Transit extends the path for buses operating along the route to serve the new hospital.

Southbound buses start their trips at a loop beside the north entrance to the hospital, then proceed:

west-, north-, east-, south- and eastward through the north side of the hospital grounds; and then
southward along Third Line to Pine Glen Road,
resuming their usual route southward along Third.

Northbound buses operate along their usual route to Third Line and Dundas Street West, then proceed:

westward along Dundas;
northward along Hospital Gate; and then
eastward along the north side of the hospital to a loop beside the north entrance into the hospital,
ending their trips.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at new stops

  • at west, north and east entrances to the hospital.

Starting Monday, December 15, buses operating along the 3 Third Line route no longer drop off or pick up passengers at this stop (although other Oakville Transit buses continue to serve the stop):

  • on Dundas Street West at Proudfoot Trail.

Oakville Transit no longer provides any service to these stops

  • southbound on Proudfoot Trail at Pine Glen Road and
  • westbound on Pine Glen Road at Laszlo Lane and east of Third Line.

Oakville Transit is also increasing and decreasing the frequency of service along the route.

Adjusting the path for buses operating along routes


25 Aspen Forest

Starting Monday, November 30, the westbound bus that usually leaves Clarkson GO Station at 6:05 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, five minutes later at 6:10 p.m. The bus ends its trip in Maplegrove Village terminal at 6:35 p.m.

The later trip improves service for passengers transferring to the bus from GO Transit trains at Clarkson GO Station.

32 Burloak - Great Lakes

Starting Monday, November 30, the westbound bus that usually leaves Bronte GO Station at 7:06 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, three minutes earlier at 7:03 a.m. The bus ends its trip in the RioCan Centre terminal at 7:26 a.m.

The eastbound bus that usually leaves RioCan at 7:31 a.m. leaves, instead, four minutes earlier at 7:27 a.m. The bus ends its trip in Bronte GO Station bus terminal at 8 a.m.

The new schedule for these two trips more accurately reflects actual travel times along the route.

2 Lakeshore

Starting Monday, November 30, Oakville Transit adjusts the running time for two early Monday-to-Friday buses to reflect actual travel times.

The northbound bus that leaves Bronte GO Station at 6:24 a.m. ends its trip on Dundas Street west of Hampshire Gate at 7:08 a.m. The southbound bus that leaves Dundas West of Hampshire at 7:12 a.m. ends its trip in Bronte GO Station bus terminal at 8:03 a.m.

33 Palermo

Starting Monday, November 30, the northbound bus that usually leaves Bronte GO Station at 5:58 a.m. leaves, instead, six minutes later at 6:04 p.m. The bus ends its trip on Postmaster Drive north of Pine Glen Road at 6:27 p.m.

The later trip improves service for passengers transferring to the bus from GO Transit trains at Bronte GO Station.

19 River Oaks

Starting Monday, November 30, the southbound bus that usually leaves Glenashton Drive west of Trafalgar Road at 6:18 a.m. leaves, instead, three minutes earlier at 6:15 a.m. The bus ends its trip in Oakville GO Station bus terminal at 6:40 a.m.

The earlier trip improves service for passengers connecting with GO Transit trains at Oakville GO Stations.

13 Westoak Trails

Starting Monday, November 30, the eastbound bus that usually leaves Westoak Trails east of Bronte Road at 6:16 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, five minutes earlier at 6:11 a.m. The bus ends its trip in Oakville GO Station bus terminal at 6:40 a.m.

The eastbound bus that usually leaves Bronte GO Station at 5:59 p.m. leaves, instead, five minutes later at 6:04 p.m. The bus ends its trip in Oakville GO Station terminal at 6:40 p.m.

By adjusting the schedule of the route, Oakville Transit improves service for passengers connecting with GO Transit trains at Bronte and Oakville GO Stations.
