Crane blocks Bay Street:
TTC detour, December 4 to 6



The City of Toronto is closing:

  • Bay Street just north of Wellesley Street West

Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday, as contractors lift a crane at a construction site.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 6 Bay.

Crane activity ends and buses resume their regular route Monday, December 7.

6 Bay

From 10 p.m. Friday, December 4 until 11 p.m. Sunday, December 6, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Bay Street and Bloor Street West, then detour:

westward along Bloor West;
southward along Queen’s Park and Queen’s Park Crescent West; and then
eastward along Wellesley Street West to Bay,
resuming their regular route southward along Bay.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Bay Street south of Charles Street West and at St. Joseph Street.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Queen’s Park across from Charles Street West (beside Museum Station),
  • on Queen’s Park Crescent West at Hoskin Avenue and
  • on Wellesley Street West beside the Ontario Legislatures, east of Queen’s Park Crescent East and at Bay Street.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route to Bay Street and Wellesley Street West, then detour:

westward along Wellesley West;
northward along Queen’s Park Crescent East and Queen’s Park; and then
eastward along Bloor Street West to Bay,
resuming their regular route northward along Bay.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Bay Street at Wellesley Street West, St. Joseph Street and Charles Street West.

Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Wellesley Street West at Queen’s Park Crescent East,
  • on Queen’s Park Crescent East at St. Joseph Street and
  • on Queen’s Park at Charles Street West (beside Museum Station).
