Highway 401 / Holt Road construction
affects GO bus service, December 5, 6



The Ontario Ministry of Transportation is closing:

  • Highway 401, eastbound lanes at Holt Road and
  • Highway 401, westbound lanes between Waverly and Courtice Roads

overnight from 11 p.m. tonight, Saturday, December 5 until 9 a.m. tomorrow, Sunday, December 6, while contractors demolish the old overpass.

GO Transit is detouring buses operating along this route, while the highway is closed:

  • 88 Peterborough / Oshawa.

Closing the highway also affects buses operating along this route:

  • 90 Lakeshore East.

From 11 p.m. Saturday, December 5 until 9 a.m. Sunday, December 6, expect delays due to heavy traffic in both direction along Durham Region Highway 2 (King Street) between Waverly and Courtice Roads.

88 Peterborough / Oshawa

From 11 p.m. Saturday, December 5 until 9 a.m. Sunday, December 6, southbound buses operate along their regular route to the Newcastle Park and Ride carpool lot, then detour:

westward along Durham Region Highway 2 (King Streets East and West in Bowmanville); and then
northward along Courtice Road to Highway 401,
resuming their regular route.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour routing.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at all regular stops.
