Queen / Broadview sewer maintenance:
TTC detours, December 6



City of Toronto crews are maintaining sewers in the area of Queen Street East and Broadview Avenue from 5 a.m. until 3 p.m. tomorrow, Sunday, December 6.

They’re working in the TTC streetcar right of way:

  • on Broadview Avenue between Dundas and Queen Streets East; and
  • on Queen Street East between Grant Street and Davies Avenue.

The TTC is detouring streetcars operating along these routes, while crews block the tracks:

  • 301 Queen overnight;
  • 304 King overnight;
  • 501 Queen; and
  • 504 King.

Shuttle buses also replace streetcar service along Queen Street East, operating between Neville Park Loop and Sherbourne Street. More shuttle buses replace streetcars on Broadview Avenue and King Street East, operating between Parliament Street at Dundas Street East and King Street East at Parliament Street.

From 5 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, December 6, westbound cars operate along their regular route to Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street East, then detour:

westward along Gerrard East; and then
southward along Parliament Street to King Street East,
resuming their regular route westward along King.

Westbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Broadview Avenue at Mount Stephen Street and Dundas and Queen Streets East,
  • on Queen Street East at Carroll Street,
  • on King Street East at River, Sumach and Sackville Streets, across from Trinity Street and at Parliament Street.

Instead, westbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Gerrard Street East at St. Matthews Road and at River, Sumach, Sackville and Parliament Streets,
  • on Parliament Street across from Oak Street, at Dundas Street East, Shuter Street and Queen, Richmond, Adelaide and King Streets East.

Shuttle buses replace the cars, operating between Broadview Avenue and Parliament Street.

Westbound streetcar passengers can transfer to westbound buses on Gerrard Street East between Broadview Avenue and Parliament Street.

Eastbound cars reverse the westbound detour routing.

Eastbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on King Street East at Trinity, Sackville, Sumach and St. Lawrence Streets,
  • on Queen Street East across from Carroll Street and at Broadview Avenue and
  • on Broadview Avenue north of Queen Street East, at Dundas Street East, across from Mount Stephen Street and at Gerrard Street East.

Instead, eastbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Parliament Street at Richmond and Queen Streets East, Shuter Street, Dundas Street East, Oak Street and Gerrard Street East and
  • on Gerrard Street East at Sackville, Sumach, River and Blackburn Streets and Broadview Avenue.

Shuttle buses replace the cars, operating between Parliament Street and Broadview Avenue.

Eastbound streetcar passengers can transfer to eastbound buses at King Street East and Parliament Street.

304 / 504 King shuttle bus

From 5 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, December 6, buses replace streetcars operating along the 304 King overnight and 504 King routes between Broadview Avenue and Parliament Street.

Westbound buses start their trips on Parliament Street north of Dundas Street East, then proceed:

eastward along Dundas East;
southward along Broadview; and then
westward along Queen and King Streets East to Parliament Street.

(The TTC has not announced details of how the buses loop at the west end of their route, but on previous occasions, TTC buses operating to and from King Street East and Parliament Street have proceeded:

southward along Parliament;
westward along Front Street East; and then
northward along Berkeley Street to King East, ending their trips.)

Westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops:

  • on Dundas Street East at Sackville, Sumach, River and Munro Streets and Broadview Avenue,
  • on Broadview Avenue at Queen Street East,
  • on Queen Street East at Carroll Street and
  • on King Street East at River, Sumach and Sackville Streets, across from Trinity Street and at Parliament Street.

Westbound bus passengers can transfer to westbound streetcars at King Street East and Parliament Street.

Eastbound buses likely start their trips on Berkeley Street south of King Street East, then proceed:

eastward along King and Queen Streets East;
northward along Broadview Avenue;
westward along Gerrard Street East; and then
southward along Parliament Street to Dundas Street East,
ending their trips.

Eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on King Street East at Parliament, Trinity, Sackville, Sumach and St. Lawrence Streets,
  • on Queen Street East across from Carroll Street and at Broadview Avenue,
  • on Broadview Avenue north of Queen Street East, at Dundas Street East, across from Mount Stephen Street and at Gerrard Street East,
  • on Gerrard Street East at St. Matthews Road and River, Sumach, Sackville and Parliament Streets and
  • on Parliament Street across from Oak Street.

Eastbound bus passengers can transfer to eastbound streetcars at Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street East.

501 Queen
301 Queen overnight

From 5 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, December 6, westbound cars operate along their regular route to Queen Street East and Coxwell Avenue, then detour:

northward along Coxwell;
westward along Gerrard Street East; and then
southward along Parliament Street to Queen East,
resuming their regular route westward along Queen East.

Westbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Queen Street East at Kent Road, across from Connaught Avenue, at Greenwood and Alton Avenues, Jones, Brooklyn, Pape, Carlaw and Logan Avenues, west of Booth Avenue, at Boulton and Broadview Avenues and Carroll, River, Sumach, Sackville and Parliament Streets.

Instead, westbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Coxwell Avenue at Dundas Street East, Robbins Avenue and Eastwood Road,
  • on Gerrard Street East at Ashdale Avenue, Highfield Road, Greenwood and Prust Avenues, Leslie Street, Jones, Marjory, Pape, Carlaw and Logan Avenues, across from DeGrassi Street and at Broadview Avenue and
  • on Parliament Street across from Oak Street and at Dundas Street East, Shuter Street and Queen Street East.

Shuttle buses replace the cars, operating between Neville Park Loop and Sherbourne Street.

Eastbound cars reverse the westbound detour routing.

  • on Parliament Street at Shuter Street, Dundas Street East, Oak Street and Gerrard Street East,
  • on Gerrard Street East at Sackville, Sumach, River and Blackburn Streets, Broadview Avenue, DeGrassi Street, Logan, Carlaw, Pape, Marjory and Jones Avenues, Leslie Street, Alton and Greenwood Avenues, Woodfield Road and Ashdale and Coxwell Avenues and
  • on Coxwell Avenue across from Robbins Avenue and at Dundas and Queen Streets East.

301 / 501 Queen shuttle bus

From 5 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, December 6, buses replace streetcars operating along the 301 Queen overnight and 501 Queen routes between Neville Park Loop and Sherbourne Street.

Westbound buses start their trips in Neville Park Loop, then proceed:

westward along Queen Street East to Sherbourne Street,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops:

  • in Neville Park Loop,
  • on Queen Street East at Neville Park Boulevard, Silver Birch Avenue, Spruce Hill Road, Glen Manor Drive, Wineva and Lee Avenues, Waverley Road, Elmer and Woodbine Avenues, Lockwood and Kingston Roads, Coxwell Avenue, Kent Road, across from Connaught Avenue, at Greenwood and Alton Avenues, Jones, Brooklyn, Pape, Carlaw and Logan Avenues, west of Booth Avenue and at Boulton and Broadview Avenues, Carroll, River, Sumach, Sackville, Parliament, Ontario and Sherbourne Streets.

Westbound bus passengers can transfer to westbound streetcars at stops on Queen Street East between Parliament and Sherbourne Streets.

The TTC has not confirmed how the buses loop at the west end of their route, but eastbound buses likely start their trips on Queen Street East at Sherbourne Street, then proceed:

northward along Sherbourne;
eastward along Dundas Street East;
southward along Parliament Street;
eastward along Queen Street East; and then
southward into Neville Park Loop,
ending their trips.

Eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops:

  • on Queen Street East [westbound] at Sherbourne Street,
  • on Sherbourne Street at Shuter Street and Dundas Street East,
  • on Dundas Street East at Ontario and Parliament Streets,
  • on Parliament Street at Shuter Street and Queen Street East,
  • on Queen Street East [eastbound] at Sackville, Sumach and River Streets, across from Carroll Street, at Broadview Avenue, Saulter Street, Empire, Logan, Carlaw, Pape and Caroline Avenues, across from Jones Avenue, at Leslie and Laing Streets, across from Greenwood Avenue, at Connaught, Coxwell, Eastern, Sarah Ashbridge, Woodbine and Kippendavie Avenues, Waverly Road, Lee and Wineva Avenues, Scarborough Beach Boulevard, Maclean, Beech and Silver Birch Avenues and Neville Park Boulevard and
