Finch Station east commuter parking lot:
Lighting repairs

Update — Sunday, February 21, 5:54 a.m.: Construction has ended.

A number of overhead lights in the east parking lot at Finch Station are not functioning due to the aging underground cable system that powers the lights.

To make sure that these areas of the parking lot are illuminated from dusk to dawn, the TTC is positioning two temporary portable lighting units with generators inside the lot. The units remain in place until contractors complete work to provide an uninterrupted power supply to the light poles.

The contractors may have to dig small trenches during the work to to feed power to the lighting poles. They’ll connect temporary overhead electrical wires to the lights between each of the light poles. They may also temporarily block some parking spaces.

Generally, they’ll work Mondays to Fridays from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Work continues until January, 2016.
