Joseph Edwards shot this night-time view of a Flexity car heading southbound on Leslie Street at Lake Shore Boulevard East on December 15, 2015. The new Leslie Barns storage and maintenance facility is on the southeast corner of the intersection.

The TTC’s newest low-floor Toronto Flexity streetcar, car number 4414, entered service Christmas Eve morning, Thursday, December 24 along the 510 Spadina route. The total number of new streetcars in service is now 13.

The TTC has equipped each low-floor streetcar with PRESTO machines and ticket validators to let passengers pay their fare. The machines also allow passengers without a a PRESTO fare card to buy a single-ride Proof-of-Payment ticket with coins or tokens.

The new car joins the other 12 accessible, low-floor streetcars in service along the 510 Spadina and 509 Harbourfront routes. The new streetcars feature a higher passenger capacity, air conditioning, and are fully accessible for customers using mobility devices.

All TTC streetcar routes are Proof-of-Payment (POP), meaning passengers with a transfer or valid TTC pass may board any streetcar by any door at any time.
