Brampton Transit is making minor changes to its services, starting Monday, January 4.


Brampton Transit is revising service along these routes: 1 / 1A Queen, 2 Main, 4 / 4A Chinguacousy; 5 / 5A Bovaird; 7 / 7A Kennedy; 8 Centre, 11 / 11A Steeles; 13 Avondale, 15 / 15A Bramalea, 17 Howden, 29 / 29A Williams; 30 Airport Road, 51 Hereford, 56 Springbrook; 200 Turner Fenton high school special; 201; 202; 203; 204 Mayfield high school special; 205 St. Thomas Aquinas high school special; 206 St. Augustine high school special; 207; 208 Mayfield high school special; 209 St. Augustine high school special; 210 Cardinal Leger high school special; 211 Chinguacousy high school special; 212 St. Roch high school special; 213 St. Edmund Campion high school special; 214 Cardinal Ambrozic high school special; 215 St. Thomas Aquinas high school special; 216 David Suzuki high school special; 502 Züm Main; 505 Züm Bovaird; 511 / 511A Züm Steeles.


Specifically, BT is: increasing service along a route; increasing the frequency of service along routes; resuming extra service to and from high schools; and adjusting the schedules for buses operating along routes.

Increasing service along a route


4 / 4A Chinguacousy

Starting Monday, January 4, Brampton Transit operates a bus on a new southbound trip along the route.

The bus leaves Mount Pleasant GO Station at 8 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and operates along the 4A branch of the route. It ends its trip in Brampton Gateway Terminal at 8:43 a.m.

By adding a new trip to the schedule, BT improves service for passengers transferring from a GO Transit train at Mount Pleasant GO Station.

Increasing the frequency of service along routes


7 / 7A Kennedy

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes.

Starting Monday, January 4, Brampton Transit increases the frequency of service along the route. Buses again drop off or pick up passengers at stops Mondays to Fridays during rush hours:

  • every 7½ minutes, instead of every 10 minutes, south of Heart Lake Terminal.

11 / 11A Steeles

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes.

Starting Monday, January 4, Brampton Transit increases the frequency of service along the route. Buses again drop off or pick up passengers at stops Mondays to Fridays during afternoon rush hours:

+every 8 minutes, instead of every 11 minutes, east of Brampton Gateway Terminal; and + every 16 minutes, instead of every 22 minutes, west of Brampton Gateway Terminal.

502 Züm Main

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes.

Starting Monday, January 4, Brampton Transit increases the frequency of service along the route. Buses again drop off or pick up passengers:

  • every 9 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes Mondays to Fridays during rush hours; and
  • every 11 minutes, instead of every 12 minutes, from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes Monday, January 4, 2016.

Brampton Transit is also adjusting the schedules of the route.

511 / 511A Züm Steeles

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes.

Starting Monday, January 4, Brampton Transit increases the frequency of service along the route. Buses again drop off or pick up passengers Mondays to Fridays during rush hours:

  • every 7 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes, east of Brampton Gateway Terminal; and
  • every 14 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, west of Brampton Gateway Terminal.

It also increases the frequency Mondays to Fridays from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 10 minutes, instead of every 12 minutes, east of Brampton Gateway Terminal; and
  • every 20 minutes, instead of every 24 minutes, west of Brampton Gateway Terminal.

Adjusting the schedules for buses operating along routes


30 Airport Road

Starting Monday, January 4, the northbound bus that usually leaves Airport Road south of Steeles Avenue East at 11:43 a.m. Mondays to Fridays pauses for two minutes, instead, leaving at 11:45 a.m. (The bus starts its trip in Westwood Mall terminal at 11:35 p.m.)

The bus drops off or picks up passengers at stops north of Steeles East as much as two minutes later than usually. It ends its trip on Mayfield Road east of Airport Road North at 12:06 a.m.

By pausing the bus at Steeles, BT improves service for passengers connecting with a bus operating along the 11 / 11A Steeles route.

13 Avondale

Starting Monday, January 4, the northbound bus that usually leaves Bramalea GO Station at 8 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, eight minutes earlier at 7:52 a.m. The bus drops off or picks up passengers at stops along the route as much as eight minutes earlier than usually. It ends its trip in Bramalea Terminal at 8:09 a.m.

By operating the bus on an earlier trip, BT improves service for passengers connecting with other Brampton Transit buses at Bramalea Terminal.

The southbound bus that usually leaves Bramalea Terminal at 8:20 a.m. leaves, instead, ten minutes earlier at 8:10 a.m. The bus drops off or picks up passengers at stops along the route as much as ten minutes earlier than usually. It ends its trip in Bramalea GO Station bus terminal at 8:29 a.m.

By operating the bus on an earlier trip, BT improves service for passengers connecting with GO Transit trains and buses at Bramalea GO Station.

It ends its trip on Castlemore Road east of Airport Road North at 3:33 p.m.

By operating the bus on a later trip, Brampton Transit improves service for passengers connecting with other BT buses at Steeles Avenue West and Mississauga Road.

Starting Monday, January 4, the northbound bus that usually leaves Bramalea Terminal at 12:30 a.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays leaves, instead, four minutes later at 12:34 a.m. The bus drops off or picks up passengers at stops along the route as much as four minutes later than usually. It ends its trip in Trinity Common Terminal at 12:48 a.m.
