DRT revises routes and services,
January 4



Durham Region Transit is making minor changes to its services, starting Monday, January 4.


DRT is revising service along these routes: 103 Glenanna / Strouds; 107 South Rosebank; 110 West Pickering; 112 Brock; 120 Whites; 219 Ravenscroft; 222 Audley South; 224 Harwood; 224D Harwood / Lake Driveway; 225A Audley North; 900 PULSE; 915 Taunton; 923 Bayly.


Specifically; DRT is: increasing service along routes; decreasing service along routes; increasing the frequency of service along a route; decreasing the frequency of service along a route; and adjusting the schedules for buses operating along routes.

Increasing service along routes

225A Audley North

The late-evening buses operating along the 915 Taunton route that usually end their trips on Taunton Road East west of Audley Road North continue along the 225A Audley North route to return to Ajax GO Station.

Starting Monday, January 4, the buses that arrive on Taunton East west of Audley North at 11:18 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 12:18 a.m. Tuesdays to Sundays, continue along route 225A. They end their trips in Ajax GO Station bus terminal at 11:46 p.m. and 12:46 a.m.

Starting Saturday, January 9, the buses that arrive on Taunton west of Audley at 10:20 and 11:20 p.m. Saturdays continue along route 225A. They end their trips in Ajax GO terminal at 10:46 and 11:46 p.m. (These are the only route 225A trips that DRT has scheduled Saturdays.)

Starting Sunday, January 10, the bus that arrives on Taunton west of Audley at 10:20 Sundays continues along route 225A. It ends its trip in Ajax GO terminal at 10:46 p.m. (This is the only route 225A trip that DRT has scheduled Sundays.)

222 Audley South

Starting Monday, January 4, DRT operates a bus on a new trip along the route Mondays to Fridays during afternoon rush hours.

The bus leaves Ajax GO Station at 5:05 p.m. It returns to the station at 5:45 p.m.

DRT is also adjusting the schedule of the route.

112 Brock

Starting Monday, January 4, DRT operates a bus on a new early-morning trip along the route Mondays to Fridays.

The bus leaves William Jackson Drive east of Brock Road at 5:32 a.m. It ends its trip in Pickering GO Station bus terminal at 5:55 a.m.

DRT is also decreasing service along the route and adjusting the schedules for buses operating along the route.

915 Taunton

Starting Monday, January 4, DRT operates buses on new westbound trips along the route Mondays to Fridays.

The buses leave the North Oshawa campuses of Durham College and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) at 3 and 6 p.m. They end their trips in Ajax GO Station bus terminal at 3:42 and 6:42 p.m.

DRT is also adjusting the schedules of the route.

Decreasing service along routes


112 Brock

Since DRT is adjusting the Monday-to-Friday schedule of the route, New Year’s Eve, Thursday, December 31, 2015 was the last day that DRT operated the bus that usually leaves Pickering GO Station at 8:25 a.m. (It usually returned to the station at 9:10 a.m.)

DRT is also adding a new early-morning trip to the Monday-to-Friday schedule.

120 Whites

Since DRT is adjusting the Monday-to-Friday schedule of the route, New Year’s Eve, Thursday, December 31, 2015 was the last day that DRT operated the bus that usually leaves Pickering GO Station at 6:20 p.m. (It usually ended its trip in Sunbird Loop at 6:38 p.m. and did not return to the station.)

Increasing the frequency of service along a route


900 PULSE

Starting Monday, January 4, DRT starts frequent service - every 7 to 10 minutes - along the route earlier Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours.

Frequent westbound buses leave Mary Street North north of Bond Street East from 5:24 until 9:47 a.m.

Frequent eastbound buses leave the University of Toronto’s Scarborough campus from 6:47 until 10:26 a.m.

Decreasing the frequency of service along a route


923 Bayly

Starting Monday, January 4, DRT decreases the frequency of service Mondays to Fridays during afternoon rush hours. According to DRT, the less frequent schedule “improves the reliability” of service along the route.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 30 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes.

DRT is not decreasing the frequency during morning rush hours.

It’s also adjusting the schedule of the route.

Adjusting the schedules for buses operating along routes


222 Audley South

Starting Monday, January 4, the bus that usually leaves Ajax GO Station at 7:15 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, five minutes earlier at 7:10 a.m. It returns to the station at 7:50 a.m.

The buses that usually leave the station at 5:15, 6:30 and 7:10 p.m. leave, instead, five minutes later at 5:20, 6:35 and 7:15 p.m. They return to the station at 6, 7:15 and 7:55 p.m.

The new schedule improves service for passengers connecting with GO Transit trains and buses at Ajax GO Station.

DRT is also increasing service along the route.

923 Bayly

Starting Monday, January 4, DRT adjusts the schedule for buses operating along the route Monday-to-Friday evenings.

The new schedule improves service for passengers connecting with other DRT buses at Ajax and Pickering GO Stations.

DRT is also decreasing the frequency of service along the route.

112 Brock

Starting Monday, January 4, the buses that usually leave Pickering GO Station at 8:45 a.m. and every 30 minutes until 3:45 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leave, instead, five minutes earlier from 8:40 a.m. until 3:40 p.m.

The buses return to the station at 9:21 a.m. and every 30 minutes until 2:51 p.m., 3:25, 3:55 and 4:25 p.m.

The buses that usually leave the GO station at 5:15, 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. leave, instead, five minutes later at 5:20, 5:35 and 5:50 p.m. The 5:20 and 5:50 p.m. buses return to the station, ending their trips at 6:09 and 6:37 p.m. The 5:35 p.m. bus ends its trip on Zents Drive just west of Brock Road at 6:08 p.m.

The buses that usually leave the GO station at 6 and 6:30 p.m. leave, instead, ten minutes later at 6:10 and 6:40 p.m. The 6:10 p.m. bus ends its trip on Zents west of Brock at 6:43 p.m. The 6:40 p.m. bus returns to the station, ending its trip at 7:27 p.m.

The new schedule better “reflects actual travel times”. It also improves service for passengers connecting with GO Transit trains and buses at Pickering GO Station.

GO is also increasing and decreasing service along the route.

Starting Monday, January 4, DRT is adjusting the Monday-to-Friday morning schedule “to better reflect actual travel times”.

The new schedule improves service for passengers connecting with GO Transit trains and buses at Pickering GO Station.

Since DRT is adjusting the Monday-to-Friday schedule of the route, New Year’s Eve, Thursday, December 31, 2015 was the last day that it operated the bus that usually leaves Ajax GO Station at 3:30 p.m. (It usually returned to the station at 4:04 p.m.)

Starting Monday, January 4, the bus that usually leaves Ajax GO Station at 3:15 p.m. leaves, instead, five minutes later at 3:20 p.m. It returns to the station at 3:54 p.m.

Starting Monday, January 4, DRT operates a new Monday-to-Friday late-night shuttle bus, leaving Ajax GO Station at 1:05 a.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays.

Starting Monday, January 4, the bus that usually leaves Ajax GO Station at 2:35 p.m. leaves, instead, five minutes later at 2:40 p.m. It returns to the station at 3:20 p.m.

107 South Rosebank

Starting Monday, January 4, DRT is adjusting the schedules “to reflect GO Transit train arrivals and departures”.

915 Taunton

The late-evening eastbound buses that usually end their trips on Taunton Road East west of Audley Road North continue, instead, along the 225A Audley North route to return to Ajax GO Station.

Starting Monday, January 4, the buses that leave Ajax GO Station at 11:05 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 12:05 a.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays arrive on Taunton Road East west of Audley Road North at 11:18 p.m. and 12:18 a.m. They return to the station at 11:46 p.m. and 12:46 a.m.

Starting Saturday, January 9, the buses that leave the station at 10:05 and 11:05 p.m. Saturdays arrive on Taunton East west of Audley North at 10:20 and 11:20 p.m. They return to the station at 10:46 and 11:46 p.m.

Starting Sunday, January 10, the bus that leaves the station at 10:05 p.m. Sundays arrives on Taunton west of Audley at 10:20 p.m. It returns to the station at 10:46 p.m.

DRT is also increasing service along the route.

110 West Pickering

Starting Monday, January 4, the bus that leaves Pickering Parkway terminal at 8 a.m. Mondays to Fridays ends its trip in Pickering GO Station bus terminal at 8:34 a.m.

(The bus previously ended its trip in the Parkway terminal at 8:35 a.m.)

120 Whites

Starting Monday, January 4, the bus that usually leaves Pickering GO Station at 4 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, five minutes later at 4:05 p.m. It ends its trip in Sunbird Loop at 4:22 p.m. It leaves Sunbird at 4:25 p.m. and returns to the station at 4:41 p.m.

The buses that leave the station at 4:20 p.m. and every 20 minutes until 6 p.m. leave, instead, ten minutes later at 4:30 p.m. and every 20 minutes until 6:10 p.m. The buses end their trips in Sunbird Loop at 4:49 and 5:09, 5:30, 5:50, 6:10 and 6:30 p.m. They leave the loop at 4:50 p.m. and every 20 minutes until 6:30 p.m. They return to the station at 5:06 p.m. and every 20 minutes until 6:06 p.m., 6:25 and 6:44 p.m.

The bus that usually leaves the station at 6:35 p.m. leaves, instead, five minutes earlier at 6:30 p.m. It ends its trip in Sunbird Loop at 6:46 p.m. It leaves the loop at 6:50 p.m. and returns to the station at 7:04 p.m.

GO is also decreasing service along the route.

The new schedule better “reflects actual travel times”. It also improves service for passengers connecting with GO Transit trains and buses at Pickering GO Station.
