Bloor Street West crane activity:
TTC detour, January 9, 10



The City of Toronto is closing:

  • Bloor Street West between Bay Street and Queen’s Park / Avenue Road

from 2 a.m. Saturday, January 9 until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, January 10 to accommodate contractors who are lifting a crane.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 300 Bloor - Danforth overnight.

Saturday, January 9 and Sunday, January 10, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Bloor Street West and Queen’s Park, then detour:

southward along Queen’s Park and Queen’s Park Crescent West;
eastward along Wellesley Street West; and then
northward along Bay Street to Bloor West,
resuming their regular route eastward along Bloor.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Bloor Street West at Bay Street.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops:

  • on Queen’s Park across from Charles Street West (beside Museum Station),
  • on Queen’s Park Crescent West at Hoskin Avenue,
  • on Wellesley Street West beside the Ontario Legislature and east of Queen’s Park Crescent East,
  • on Bay Street at St. Joseph Street and Charles Street West.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route to Bloor Street West and Bay Street, then detour:

southward along Bay;
westward along Wellesley Street West; and then
northward along Queen’s Park Crescent East and Queen’s Park to Bloor West,
resuming their regular route westward along Bloor.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Bloor Street West at Bay Street and Avenue Road.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops:

  • on Bay Street south of Charles Street West and at St. Joseph Street,
  • on Wellesley Street West at Queen’s Park Crescent East,
  • on Queen’s Park Crescent East at St. Joseph Street and
  • on Queen’s Park north of Charles Street West (beside Museum Station).
