Finch West light rail transit line:
Public meetings, January 11, 12 and 13



Metrolinx planners working on the project to build a light rail transit line on Finch Avenue West are approaching a significant milestone: they’ll be issuing a request for proposals to suppliers early this year. (Although the Metrolinx webpage does not identify the purpose for the request for proposal process, it will likely identify suppliers to build and maintain the line.)

In the meantime, Metrolinx is hosting three open houses to update you on the status of the project, including the design concept for the stops, information about the maintenance and storage facility and details on public spaces near the line.

Metrolinx plans to start building the 11-kilometre line between Humber College and the future Finch West subway station in 2017.


Monday, January 11

From 7 until 9 p.m.

Getting there by public transit:

  • Eastbound TTC buses operating along the 36 Finch West route to a stop in front of the school.
  • Westbound buses operating along the 36 Finch West route to a stop across the street from the school. Cross Finch West at the signal to the school.
  • Southbound buses operating along the 106 York University route to Sentinel Road at Finch Avenue West. Cross Finch West at the signal and walk west to the school.
  • Northbound buses operating along the 106 York University route to Sentinel Road at Finch Avenue West. Cross Sentinel at the signal and walk west to the school.

Tuesday, January 12

From 6 until 8 p.m.

Getting there by public transit:

  • Eastbound buses operating along the 36 Finch West route to Signet Drive. Cross Signet and Finch West at the signal and continue to walk south along Arrow Road.
  • Westbound buses operating along the 36 Finch West route to Arrow Road. Walk south along Arrow.
  • Southbound buses operating along the 84 Sheppard West via Arrow route to Finch Avenue West. Cross Finch West at the signal and continue to walk south along Arrow Road.
  • Northbound buses operating along the 84 Sheppard West via Arrow and 99 Arrow Rd routes to Finch Avenue West. Cross Arrow at the signal and walk south.

Wednesday, January 13

From 6 until 8 p.m.

Getting there by public transit:

  • Eastbound buses operating along the 36 Finch West route to Martin Grove Road, beside the school. Walk south to the front entrance.
  • Westbound buses operating along the 36 Finch West route to west of Martin Grove Road. Walk east to Martin Grove, then cross Finch West at the signal. Walk south to the front entrance of the school.
  • Southbound buses operating along the 46 Martin Grove route to the school.
  • Northbound buses operating along the 46 Martin Grove route to Finch Avenue West. Cross Martin Grove at the signal, then walk south to the front entrance of the school
  • Southbound buses operating along the 191 **Highway 27 rocket route to west of Martin Grove Road. Walk east to Martin Grove, then cross Finch West at the signal. Walk south to the front entrance of the school.
  • Northbound buses operating along the 191 Highway 27 rocket route to Martin Grove Road north of Finch West. Walk south to Finch, cross Finch and Martin Grove at the signal to the southwest corner, the walk south to the front entrance of the school.
  • Southbound York Region Transit buses operating along the 7 **Martin Grove route to west of Martin Grove Road. Walk east to Martin Grove, then cross Finch West at the signal. Walk south to the front entrance of the school.
