Metrolinx board of directors discuss
Crosstown station names, January 14

The Metrolinx board of directors are holding a special meeting to discuss and approve the names for stations along the future Eglinton - Crosstown light rail transit line.

Metrolinx must hold the special meeting to fulfill a deadline in its contract with Crosslinx Transit Solutions this month. By approving the names now, Metrolinx allows Crosslinx time to finalize their station designs, including details like quantities for signs and tiling.

Board chair J. Robert S. Prichard and chief executive officer Bruce McCuaig will host a teleconference with board members so the public can listen to the live audio webcast.

The meeting takes place Thursday, January 14 at 2 p.m. and should last about 30 minutes.

You can find the live audio webcast (once Mr. Prichard calls the meeting to order) here.

You can view the agenda for the meeting online here. You can read the Metrolinx staff report recommending the final station names here.

They’ll also post a video of the meeting on the website after the meeting.

Crosslinx Transit Solutions (CTS) is a consortium consisting of EllisDon, SNC-Lavalin, Aecon and **ACS. Metrolinx selected the consortium to deliver the project. This means:

  • designing, financing and building the line, including 25 stations and stops, track work, signals, communications and other components, including a maintenance and storage facility; and
  • maintaining the line for 30 years, including “life-cycle” repairs, and renewing building and sytem components.
