The TTC is making emergency repairs to overhead wiring inside the Spadina Station streetcar tunnel three mornings this week.
It’s closing access to the tunnel from 12:30 until 5:30 a.m. Thursday, January 28, Friday, January 29 and Saturday, January 30. In addition to the urgent overhead repairs, crews will thoroughly inspect the overhead infrastructure. They’ll also take advantage of the closure to repair a section of the track after they finish the overhead work.
All work takes place inside the streetcar tunnel. Work vehicles and equipment will access the tunnel from the streetcar ramp on Spadina Avenue south of Bloor Street West.
The TTC is detouring streetcars operating along these routes, while the tunnel is closed:
Shuttle buses replace the cars, operating between Spadina Station and Queen Street West. Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops beside the curb and do not use the centre-road “island” streetcar stops. The buses start and end their trips in the bus terminal at Spadina Station — the same terminal that buses operating along the 127 Davenport route also use.
