Lake Shore Boulevard West track repairs,
February 17 to 19

Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, February 17, TTC track crews are conducting emergency concrete repairs to three areas of the streetcar track allowance on

  • Lake Shore Boulevard West between 22nd Street and 24th Street.

Cold weather has forced concrete in this section to lift and heave, damaging streetcars. The TTC is maintaining regular streetcar service along the 301 Queen overnight and 501 Queen routes, while the crews work in the area.

Starting at about 8 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, the crew breaks and removes concrete on the track area. They’ll finish removing concrete by late February 18 afternoon. Once they’ve dug out the track sections, they’ll start placing new concrete. The newly placed concrete will cure until 10 p.m. February 19, before traffic can again travel over the track area.

The crew may restrict some traffic lanes while they work, but will make sure that traffic flows in both directions through the work zone.
