Rebecca / Forsythe sewer construction:
Oakville Transit detour starts February 16



*Update — Wednesday, December 14, 11:32 p.m.: Construction and the detours continue until February 3, 2017.


*Update — Wednesday, September 21, 8:09 p.m.: Construction and the detours continue until further notice.


*Update — Monday, August 31, 3:57 p.m.: Construction on Rebecca and Randall Streets and the Oakville Transit detours continue “until the end of September”, or until September 30.


*Update — Saturday, July 2, 5:43 a.m.: Construction shifts from the intersection of Rebecca and Forsythe streets to Rebecca and Randall Streets between Kerr Street and Trafalgar Road. Oakville Transit is revising the detour routings, which continue until August 19.


The Town of Oakville is closing:

  • Forsythe Street, northbound lanes, at Randall Street / Rebecca Street

to accommodate a Region of Halton construction project to replace the waste-water main on Rebecca Street.

Starting today, Tuesday, February 16, Oakville Transit is detouring northbound buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 17 Kerr.

Construction and the detour continue until June 30.

Southbound buses operate along their regular route.

From Monday, February 16 until Thursday, June 30, northbound buses operate along their regular route to Randall and Forsythe Streets, then detour:

westward along Rebecca Street;
northward along Wilson Street; and then
eastward along Head Street to Forsythe Street,
resuming their regular route northward along Forsythe.

Northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at all regular stops.

They also serve a temporary stop

  • on Rebecca Street at Chisholm Street.
