Queen / Greenwood track repairs,
February 23, 24

Today, Tuesday, February 23, TTC track crews are repairing the concrete in a small area of the streetcar track allowance on

  • Queen Street East at Greenwood Avenue.

The recent cold weather has broken and heaved parts of the concrete and depressed the asphalt from a recent repair at the intersection. The TTC is maintaining regular service along the 501 Queen and 502 Downtowner routes during the work.

However, it is detouring buses operating along this route:

  • 31 Greenwood.

About 8 a.m. today, the crew starts breaking and removing concrete along the track area. They’ll finish removing concrete by late this evening.

Once they’ve finished digging out this section of track, they’ll start placing new concrete for about one hour after about 10 p.m. The new concrete will cure until 6 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, February 24 before traffic can travel over the track area.

Crews may temporarily block some traffic lanes in the work area, but vehicles can continue to operate in both directions.

Toronto Police Services officers are helping to direct traffic as work continues.
