Queen / Shaw water-main maintenance:
TTC detour, March 6



City of Toronto crews will temporarily block the streetcar tracks on

  • Queen Street West just west of Shaw Street

early this Sunday morning to maintain the water-main.

The TTC is detouring streetcars operating along these routes, while crews block the tracks:

  • 301 Queen overnight; and
  • 501 Queen.

Shuttle buses replace the cars, operating between Roncesvalles Avenue and Bathurst Street.

From 2 until 10 a.m. Sunday, March 6, eastbound streetcars operate along their regular route to The Queensway and Roncesvalles Avenue / King Street West, then detour:

southeast- and eastward along King West;
northward along Shaw Street to Queen Street West,
resuming their regular route eastward along Queen West.

Eastbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Queen Street West at Wilson Park Road, Dowling, Jameson and Dunn Avenues, across from Brock Avenue, at Dufferin Street, across from Gladstone Avenue, at Abell Street, Dovercourt Road, Lower Ossington Avenue and Shaw Street and
  • on Shaw Street at Adelaide and Queen Streets West.

Instead, eastbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on King Street West across from Wilson Park Road, at Dunn, Jameson, Dowling and Spencer Avenues, Dufferin Street, Fraser and Atlantic Avenues, across from Sudbury Street and at Shaw Street.

Shuttle buses replace the cars between Roncesvalles Avenue / King Street West and Shaw Street. Eastbound streetcar passengers may transfer to eastbound buses at The Queensway and Roncesvalles Avenue / King Street West.

Westbound cars reverse the eastbound detour routing.

Westbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Queen Street West at Ossington Avenue, Dovercourt Road, Beaconsfield Avenue, west of Dufferin Street and at Brock, O’Hara, Lansdowne, Sorauren, Triller and Roncesvalles Avenues.

Instead, westbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Shaw Street across from Adelaide Street West and at King Street West and
  • on King Street West at Sudbury Street, Joe Shuster Way, Dufferin Street, Spencer, Dunn, Jameson and Dowling Avenues and west of Wilson Park Road.

Shuttle buses replace the cars between Shaw Street and King Street West / Roncesvalles Avenue. Westbound streetcar passengers may transfer to westbound buses at stops on Queen Street West between Bathurst and Shaw Streets.

301 / 501 Queen shuttle bus

From 2 until 10 a.m. Sunday, March 6, buses replace streetcars operating along the 301 Queen overnight and 501 Queen routes.

Eastbound buses start their trips in Sunnyside Loop, then proceed:

southward along Sunnyside Avenue;
eastward along The Queensway and Queen Street West;
northward along Bathurst Street; and then
eastward into Wolseley Loop,
ending their trips.

Eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Sunnyside Loop,
  • on The Queensway at King Street West,
  • on Queen Street West at Wilson Park Road, Dowling, Jameson and Dunn Avenues, across from Brock Avenue, at Dufferin Street, across from Gladstone Avenue, at Abell Street, Dovercourt Road, Lower Ossington Avenue, Shaw Street, Strachan Avenue and Niagara, Tecumseth and Bathurst Streets.

Eastbound bus passengers may transfer to eastbound streetcars at stops on Queen Street West between Shaw and Bathurst Streets.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound routing.

Westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Bathurst Street at Queen Street West,
  • on Queen Street West at Palmerston Avenue, Claremont Street, across from Strachan Avenue, at Shaw Street, Ossington Avenue, Dovercourt Road, Beaconsfield Avenue, west of Dufferin Street and at Brock, O’Hara, Lansdowne, Sorauren, Triller and Roncesvalles Avenues.
