From Wednesday, March 16 until Monday, March 21, TTC crews are upgrading the streetcar overhead wire infrastructure in:
- in Humber Loop.
This work is necessary so the TTC can operate its new low-floor Toronto Flexity streetcars through the loop in the future.
During the same period, the TTC is also replacing a transformer at its sub-station on
- Lake Shore Boulevard West, just west of Kipling Avenue.
While work proceeds, the TTC is not operating streetcars along these routes west of Sunnyside Loop:
(Sunnyside Loop is one block west of Roncesvalles Avenue.)
The TTC is operating shuttle buses along two routes to replace streetcar service:
- 301 / 501 Queen / Long Branch shuttle buses (between Dufferin Gate and Long Branch loops); and
- 301 / 501 Queen / Marine Parade shuttle buses (between Dufferin Gate and Park Lawn loops).
The shuttle buses open all doors at all stops so passengers with a proof of payment may board. Since the TTC has not yet equipped buses with PRESTO fare-card devices, PRESTO users must enter by the front door and pay with cash, tickets or tokens and take a transfer as proof-of-payment.
