York Region Transit 2017 service plan:
public info events, March 22 to April 12



York Region Transit is hosting a series of public information meetings to unveil its proposals for revising its route network in 2017.

You can drop by these events to learn more about, and comment on, the plans. YRT / Viva staff will be available to answer your questions.

YRT has scheduled the events:

Events take place in:


Tuesday, March 22

From 4 until 8 p.m.
Markham Civic Centre (Great Hall)
101 Town Centre Boulevard.

Getting there by public transit:

  • southbound TTC buses operating along the 68 Warden route to Warden Avenue at the bridge to the Markham Theatre. Cross the bridge and walk east to the civic centre.
  • northbound buses operating along the 68 Warden route to Warden Avenue beside No Frills. Cross Warden Avenue at the signal, then the bridge and walk east to the civic centre.
  • westbound YRT buses operating along the 40 Markham local route to Town Centre Boulevard across from Wallis Way. Walk east to the civic centre.
  • eastbound buses operating along the 40 Markham local route to Town Centre Boulevard at Wallis Way. Walk east to the civic centre.
  • westbound YRT buses operating along the 1 Highway 7 route to Highway 7 and Town Centre Boulevard. Walk north one block and then east to the Civic Centre.
  • eastbound Viva buses operating along the 1 Highway 7 route to Highway 7 and South Town Centre Boulevard. Cross Highway 7 and Town Centre Boulevard at the signal. Walk north one block and then east to the Civic Centre.
  • northbound YRT buses operating along the 302 Unionville express route to Town Centre Boulevard across from Cox Boulevard. Walk to the civic centre.
  • westbound Viva buses operating along the Viva pink and Viva purple routes to Town Centre vivastation. Walk north one block and then east to the Civic Centre.
  • eastbound Viva buses operating along the Viva pink and Viva purple routes to South Town Centre vivastation. Cross Highway 7 and Town Centre Boulevard at the signal. Walk north one block and then east to the Civic Centre.

Wednesday, March 23

Getting there by public transit:

  • Southbound YRT buses operating along the 58 Mount Albert route to the sports complex.
  • Northbound YRT buses operating along the 58 Mount Albert route to Mount Albert Road and Colonel Wayling Boulevard. Cross Mount Albert Road to the sports complex.

Tuesday, March 29

Georgina Ice Palace (main lobby / entrance)
90 Wexford Drive , Keswick

Getting there by public transit:

  • Southbound YRT buses operating along the 50 Queensway route to Woodbine Avenue at Wexford Drive beside the Ice Palace.
  • Northbound YRT buses operating along the 50 Queensway route Woodbine Avenue across from Wexford Drive. Cross Woodbine at the signal, then walk north to the Ice Palace.
  • Southbound YRT buses operating along the 51 Keswick local route to Wexford Drive west of Woodbine Avenue, beside the Ice Palace.
  • Northbound YRT buses operating along the 51 Keswick local route to Wexford Drive west of Woodbine Avenue, across from the Ice Palace.

Getting there by public transit:

  • GO Transit buses operating along the 65 Newmarket / Toronto, 66 Newmarket / North York express and 68 Barrie / Newmarket routes drop off or pick up passengers at Newmarket GO Bus Terminal.
  • YRT buses operating along the Viva blue, Viva yellow, 44 Bristol, 50 Queensway, 52 Holland Landing, 55 / 55B Davis Drive, 56 Gorham / Eagle, 57 Mulock and 520 / 521 Newmarket community routes drop off or pick up passengers at Newmarket GO Bus Terminal.

  • Southbound YRT buses operating along the Viva blue route to Wellington vivastation. Cross to the east side of Yonge at the signal, then walk south two blocks.
  • Northbound YRT buses operating along the Viva blue route to Wellington vivastion. Walk south two blocks.
  • Southbound YRT buses operating along the 22A King City and 98 Yonge routes to Yonge Street at Wellington Street West. Cross to the east side of Yonge at the signal, then walk south two blocks.
  • Northbound YRT buses operating along the 22A King City, 31 Aurora North and 98 Yonge routes to Yonge and Church Streets. The library is on the northeast corner.
  • Southbound YRT buses operating along the 54 Bayview route to Church Street at Yonge Street beside the library.
  • Westbound YRT buses operating along the 32 Aurora South and 33 Wellington routes to Wellington Street West west of Yonge Street. Cross to the east side of Yonge at the signal, then walk south two blocks.
  • Eastbound YRT buses operating along the 32 Aurora South and 33 Wellington routes to Wellington Street West west of Yonge Street. Cross to the east side of Yonge at the signal, then walk south two blocks.
  • Southbound GO Transit buses operating along the 65 Newmarket / Toronto route to Yonge Street north of Wellington Street West. Cross to the east side of Yonge at the signal, then walk south two blocks.
  • Northbound GO Transit buses operating along the 65 Newmarket / Toronto route to Yonge Street north of Wellington Street East. Walk two blocks south.

Tuesday, April 5

Town of Whitchurch - Stouffville (main lobby)

Getting there by public transit:

  • Southbound GO Transit buses operating along the 70 Uxbridge / Stouffville / Markham or 71 Stouffville / Toronto routes to Main Street and Sandale Road. Cross Main Street at the signal to the southwest corner. Walk south one block.
  • Northbound GO Transit buses operating along the 70 Uxbridge / Stouffville / Markham or 71 Stouffville / Toronto routes to Main Street and Sandiford Drive. Walk south one block.
  • Southbound YRT buses operating along the 9 Ninth Line route to Main Street and Sandiford Drive. Walk south one block.
  • Westbound YRT buses operating along the 15 Stouffville route to Main Street and Sandale Road. Cross Main Street at the signal to the southwest corner. Walk south one block.

Wednesday, April 6

Getting there by public transit:

  • YRT buses operating along the 4 Major Mackenzie, 12 Pine Valley, 20 / 20A Jane, 21 Vellore local, 26 Maple local, 85 / 85C Rutherford, 87 Autumn Hill and 360 Vaughan Mills express routes drop off or pick up passengers in Vaughan Mills Terminal.

Thursday, April 7

From 4 until 8 p.m. Richmond Hill Centre Terminal 8675 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill

Getting there by public transit:

  • GO Transit trains operating along the 61 Richmond Hill line to Langstaff GO Station. Cross pedestrian bridge to Richmond Hill Centre Terminal.
  • GO buses operating along the 51 Pickering / York U, 52 Oshawa / York U and 54 Markham / York U routes to the terminal.
  • YRT buses operating along the Viva blue, Viva pink and Viva purple, 1 Highway 7, 83 Trench, 86 Newkirk - Red Maple, 87 Autumn Hill, 91B Bayview and 99 Yonge routes to the terminal.

Getting there by public transit:

  • Southbound YRT buses operating along the 22 / 22A King City route to King Road and William Street. Cross King Road at the signal to the township offices on the south side of the road.
  • Northbound YRT buses operating along the 22 / 22A King City route to King Road and Banner Lane. Walk east to the township offices.
