TTC upgrading power facilities
in Sherbourne Station, April 2 to 4

The TTC is upgrading the electrical power panel at Sherbourne Station from Saturday, April 2 until Monday, April 4. Upgrading the panel is necessary so the TTC can operate elevators at the station in the future.

During this work, generators will temporarily power the station. TTC crews will park two self-contained generators in the northbound curb lane on Sherbourne Street, just south of Bloor Street East, near the station.

One generator will operate continuously until the crews finish upgrading the power panel.

They’ll also install scaffolding in front of the station so that they can link power cables overhead between the generator and the station, allowing passengers to walk below.

Crews are mostly working in the station, “around the clock”, 24 hours a day. They’ll install scaffolding after 10 p.m. Friday, April 1, and remove it after 10 a.m. Monday, April 4.

The project does not affect regular service along the 2 Bloor - Danforth subway line.

Northbound TTC buses operating along the 75 Sherbourne route continue to drop off or pick up passengers in front of the station entrance.

The work will not affect the power supply to the nearby community, although neighbours may hear noise from the generators.
